I've seen the pics with the craters and they are NOT near the buildings. There is no contradictory evidence. Everything has an explanation.

The exhaust is leaving the engine at thousands of meters per second and somebody on this thread has claimed the engine kicked up dust. It must also have kicked up pebbles and rocks.

Yet not a single picture of any of the landing pads show even the slightest damage to the aluminized PET that is Kapton. Not a single tear or frayed edge nor a sign of melting. Flimsy plastic, 5 mil at the thickest right next to a blasting rocket engine.

So if they kept the engine on until pad touchdown, what happened to the exhaust? Why NO damage to the plastic film covering the landing gear?
