I just gained respect for Sarah Palin: "Snowden is not the problem" Palin says
Being a libertarian, there's much I disagree with Palin on. I also thought she was a bad pick as a political candidate for VP in 2008 - though she had more experience than Obama, she would have been lost in DC. In the past 5 years shes gained a lot of experience and I wouldn't hesitate to vote for her now.

Nevertheless, it's refreshing to see that Palin is rebelling against the Republican elite and refusing to condemn Snowden. And as an added bonus, she opposes intervention in Syria.

"Sarah Palin energized a group of social conservatives at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference Saturday, blasting the Obama Administration’s apparent lawlessness, calling the current state of America “Orwellian,” and urging the United States to stay out of Syria’s chaotic and brutal civil war.

In comments to the Daily Caller, the 2008 candidate for vice president also declined to join many of her fellow Republicans in condemning National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, saying the real problem was the government’s violation of Americans’ rights.

In her speech, Palin called the current political atmosphere, rife with scandals, a “a symptom of a bigger disease,” expressing outrage over the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative nonprofits."

Lol, try to use your brain once in awhile, it may benefit you.
Why do you think she stopped being a actual politician? She figured out she could make way more money, and can't be held genuinely accountable for anything, by doing this type of stuff. She makes her living off of being a talking head. You know your talking about someone who had a damned reality tv show, right?

No, I don't even think she was ready for VP, for two reasons.

First, whoever is VP should be capable of being President if necessary. Since she wasn't ready for the Presidency, she wasn't ready to be VP. In fact, the desirability of having a potential President as VP goes back to the Founding: originally, the VP was whoever came second in the electoral college, rather than whoever the President-elect chose to be his running mate.

Second, Palin had no experience of Washington. The sad fact is that the VP needs to be a master of Washington, because they deal so much with Congress and cover the President's ass when necessary. She had no support structure (on a personal/networking level, not on a party level). Further, she wasn't a favorite of the Republican establishment, so would have been weak in trying to face off the Democrats. So politically she was a bad choice at the time.
