Just out of curiosity, how did you not see the big red bulls eye on your skin from the transmission of the disease?

Was it not present or perhaps you were bitten on your scalp?

Only medical I have is VA. Not always the best as I know many here know.
They gave me doxycycline
and tramadol for the pain.

is there anything else for this?

Like I said I have both Rocky Mountain spotted fever and lyme.
They doc said it was rare to get both at the same time.
Guess I won the unlucky lotto.

Wow! What are the odds of that! Sorry. It will take the antibiotics a long time tow work but they are supposed to eventually.

What general area do you live in? I found a tick on my head recently and you're scaring me!

I'm in southeast.

I did have a bulls eye on my ass, but I thought it was a spider bite and didn't think that much about it.
Well 2 weeks later symtoms started, went a fews days and thought I was just having a case of olf fart syndrome, well it got unbearable so I went to the VA ER.

I'm in north Alabama. Not too far. I wonder if this is everywhere now. My cat brings in ticks all the time. I find them walking on the floor and on me sometimes.

Going to check my hair and all over every day several times now.

I think it takes a long time to get over even one of those things. Damned ticks!

Lyme disease is a bio-weapon. If you know its nature you should be able to successfully fight it.

Re: WTF Rocky Mountain Spotted fever and Lyme Disease
My g/f has had a positive diagnosis of Lyme disease now going on ten years :(
Only thirty some percent of people bitten by the Lyme carrying deer tick present a bulls eye rash.
Best odds for a cure are anti biotics taken within days of being infected. If no anti biotic intervention the chances are greatly diminished after one week. She was diagnosed at 8 months after infection. Despite dozens of doctors and tens of thousands of dollars in medicines she has seen little improvement in her pain and symptoms. Get checked for co-infections. Can be just as bad as the Lyme. My heart goes out to everyone suffering and their loved ones from this modern day plague. Blessings and healing.

Hello. Keep fighting and taking the antibiotics as long as possible. You probably have other coinfections. Do no stop learning about the diseases. You will be amazed how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

I must be allergic to one of these meds, the doxy or the tramadol. I have a buch on sore itchy spots that look like ant bites, but have not been bit by anything else, have stayed my ass indoors since this all started. Really haven't even been able to get out of bed much, I get up do a few things around the house and I am just wore out, lay back down and shake for a while and off to sleep again.

Tramadol can make you itchy, but I would call the pharmacist. The antibiotic should carry a sun warning and can take 6-8 weeks to work.

I had lymes before and facial paralysis due to tcit. Good luck and get well!

Thanks , yep I have been staying out of the sun, like I said spend most of the time in bed right now.I have only six more days worth of doxy out of my 21 day supply. Still not the slightest hint of improvement yet.

The Doxycycline didn't work.
So They went to step 2 which was 14 days of IV's with Rocephin.

They Said it was stage 2 Lyme.. Does that mean they caught it in time or not?

Re: WTF Rocky Mountain Spotted fever and Lyme Disease
I was bitten by a paralysis tick once, on the chin, when I lived in the rainforrest.

It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I realised I probs have Lyme disease, but our government sort of refuses to believe in it. The test case has been a National Parks worker, who was bitten many times, trying to seek workers compensation for the pain she lives with now.

One side of my face went numb for a week, and my neck for two weeks, after the little bugger got me while I was sleeping. I thought it was all over once that cleared up, but my health has gradually declined ever since.

Then I moved to where the was lots of mosquitos. Later I read some were carrying new illnesses we never had in our country previously. Only one doctor in that whole area was onto it, and doing the specific tests for it, and actually treating people who had it.

Around the time the tick bit me, my daughter and some other local kids came down with Rocky Mountain Yellow Fever - in Australia. Turned out that people coming to the Permaculture Institute nearby to learn gardening techniques were giving new illnesses to our mozzies, who then spread them around the area too.

Maybe everyone's bloods are being mixed for another reason. A bigger picture.
