Just watched requiem for a dream

Yeah bit overated, bit bleak etc

Trainspottings better although entirely different.

i thought it was underrated. it blew my mind.

I've been battling myself with this one. It keeps popping up on my amazon prime as a recommendation, and I typically stay away from their recommendations because they're rarely a good suggestion. Also, if the movie is very mainstream, it turns me off before I even check it out. Not sure why, exactly, but I just don't like the idea of watching a movie that the general populace deems worthy. I'm not above it, necessarily, but maybe....past it? I dunno.

I disagree, while maybe to some people it is over-rated as a whole, I would say under-rated and while not amazing, definitely better than trainsporting.

In terms of cinema, it's a classic. In terms of actual content, it's soul-scarring.

Hey! Been a while! Requiem wasn't too mainstream.It has grown in popularity over the years though.

Without giving the ending away, can you describe how it is scarring? That word alone makes me kinda want to watch it.

It's an excellent movie.

The dark side of drug addiction...

The very *real* side of drug addiction. It is spot on in so many ways and it shows the folly of legal and illegal drugs and what holes they really suck you into. Jennifer Connelly gives the picture some kind of emotion that could not be created without specifically her and that script.

A perfect 10 film at the top of my list.

Some of the images from that movie still run in my head once in a while. Dark and enlightening, but overrated for sure.

It's really about seeing it the time it came out. The times were different then and media wasn't as saturated as it has gotten. It was new for the time.

It is realistic. The things that go on show you what occur if you you go down paths. And it include many drugs of choice to the fullest, and how regular people get involved with them and how their actions ruin/affect their lives.

Hardly realistic, ive done heroin & i didnt turn into some hopeless junkie with femoral artery necrosis. Its a great movie but its overly dramatic almost to the point where its bordering on anti drug propaganda. Nonetheless its very well written, the cinematography is fantastic, sound track is great & the acting is top notch.... Definitely worth a watch!

Sad movie.... Pans Labyrinth was good too!
