Just pretend you lost your source of income and you are
doing everything possible to find work and you cannot find
anything. It is very humbling, I am there, this is realty
and I did have a good career. I have applied for anything I could find. I still have a little money left but not much and its going on three years now. There are moochers but there are also good people out here doing what they can.

The shutdowns are all theater. I've been through this before in the mid 80's. Girlfriend at the time comes over in the middle of the day (I worked nights) and says "they shut down the government and sent us all home" (she worked at the Social Security office).

After a short time, they arrive at some sort of consensus and start everything back up again.

So this has been going on for years. And nothing comes of it. They're just crying "wolf".

Of course back then, we didn't have 17,000,000,000,000 in debt either. In '84 it was just 1,572,266,000,000.

If and that's a big if...the Republicans shut down the government, the democrats will cause a civil war. They are a bunch of 'give me', mean, violent people.

I can't stand either party, but IF everyone had voted for Ron Paul, this wouldn't even be an issue.

Oh how I wish the Repubs would grow a pair and fund the government but defund Obamacare. Make the bastard shut down the government services himself.

I think they should publicly acknowledge what the actual federal debt balance is. It is Something on the order of $217 Trillion in unfunded liabilities.

Then publicly state that they will eventually default and screw anyone holding a note.

Of course this scenario will never happen but it is the truth.
