Jesus is evident throughout the Scriptures, starting in Genesis. Read it all again. Pray and read and you'll get it. Show me Jesus in Genesis. Which chapter/verse? Genesis Verse 1: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. John 1 and 10 and 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the world and the world was made through Him And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory. You have to take the Bible as a whole. In the beginning, God created everything. We are told that the Word.. the Bible tells us here that Jesus is the Word... in the beginning was the Word...In the beginning was Jesus, the second person of the triune Godhead... read the Bible..you'll find that throughout. The world was made through Him.. Read it..it's very clear. He came down to our level, He lived with us, after He created everything. Read the Old Testament with the pictures in mind that the New Testament reveal to us thatthe sacrifices and offerings of the OT were previews of Jesus death on calvary. Throughout the OT, you will see foreviews and pictures of the coming Jesus, the Christ of the New Testament. One of the many clear pictures of Jesus in the OT is Isaiah 53: Read it carefully. It is the gospel in the Old Testament. It gives the gospel, the lamb of God offering Himself for the sins of mankind---700 years before He was born into the sorrows of this world. Right there in Isaiah, the gospel is described--God's plan of redemption and work of redemption. It is the glorious figure of Christ on the Cross...the only hope of mankind. The gospel of the New Testament is clearly given in the Old. Throughout the Old Testament, the message is that someone is coming, who will take away our sin.... Jesus is pictured there from the first verse in Genesis throughout. Dig just a little, and you'll see. If you want to keep the blinders on, you will not see. Jesus said that people are deaf and blind because they want to be---because they do not want to see. There is nothing in Genesis that indicates a savior. The Word is God. No indication of a Son. Let US create...??? The others could be any entities, no mention specifically of a Son. Even with back references, Jesus Christ or any Son was not mentioned in Genesis. Isiah??? You said Genesis and I asked that to prove that claim. Which you have not. The old testament, with the exception of Psalms and a few prophecies was gloom and doom for anyone who dared cross the great almighty. Right. There's no mention of a son. Actually, "us" isn't what we think, either. Just as "we" wasn't used the same way. "The majestic plural (pluralis maiestatis in Latin, literally, "the plural of majesty"), is the use of a plural pronoun to refer to a single person holding a high office, such as a monarch, bishop, or pope. It is also called the royal pronoun, the royal "we" or the Victorian "we". The more general word for the use of we to refer to oneself is nosism. However the use as majestic plural (to denote the excellence, power, and dignity of the person who speaks or writes) is the most common one." [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

Mine is awesome, but I suspect someone's isn't It is my experience that people who lash out at God and the Bible are the ones suffering the most. They are jealous, envious, covetous people who cannot stand to see someone deal with life on life's terms and with the comfort of God and His Divine Word. So miserable as they are, they seek to cause as many as they can to question their faith. It must suck to be so miserable. I love Jesus. I love the Bible. I love my life And the longer we love Him...the more that we learn about Him and from Him....the sweeter life is! How magnificent is our God! We cannot begin to comprehend His majesty and His secrets, but what He has disclosed to us is awesome! Only that living relationship with our Lord can make life meaningful. If I were not written in the Book of Life, seeing all that is happening in this world right now, I would go hide under a rock somewhere---it would be frightening. But we know how history ends! We have the peace that surpasses all understanding....only because we know God. I learn more about the Tooth Fairy and her going rates and stuff, too, the more I love her. Oh, wait... that's just in my head? Hmmm... could I have been hearing voices this whole time? What's it called when people hear voices again...? |

Because you're not at a point where you are willing to listen to the truth. But once you suffer a lot, then you'll be ready. You're not meant to understand the bible. It's intentional so that those with a hateful heart towards God will screw themselves. It's a type of foreshadow for the "great delusion" moron. Not to worry, you'll find out soon enough. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47010006 Am I right? It's also the old technique of what do you think about when I tell you not to think of something? God says, Don't even THINK about sex before marriage. So what torments you? Sex and not having it. So when you think about it so much you feel even more guilty and rely on God even more to help you with your own helplessness and extreme unworthiness. Such a cycle. Doesn't even matter that Jesus died for your sins, you are awashed with guilt your entire lives, rendering you basically ineffective your whole life to really accomplish anything. Welcome to the matrix. It has you. But then there is hope you think, since you can't do anything, your savior Neo is sure to be on his way. Keep dreaming. Keep waiting. Keep praying. Do nothing. You'll soon see the Truth when no Rapture happens and you will suffer greatly on this earth. Just remember my words. There is a particular reason why he says no sex before marriage though and it's not just to torment a person. The thing that does the tormenting is the lust and the flesh. Best thing is when you defeat that. Sex with random people has consequences, it's not just for pleasure. Many people have left a trail of destruction behind them from their sexual activity that distress many. There is things to be considered. Sex without marriage is nothing short of adultery basically. When you are saved you will want to do his will. Even if you have temptations nothing is worth displeasing him. How do you know which commands are his? The bible teaches it a lot, and also your internal moral code that he gave you. It all depends how much you want to know God and how close you want to be with God. |

HE knows we can not live the perfect life and when we trust HIM, HE alone saves us, remembers our sins no more and that is a blessed hope! That is true for the New Testament (except Revelation), but the Old Testament is death for every offense. Disobey your daddy, death by stoning. Prostitute yourself, death, worship idols, death. Somom was tuened into glass. Where is that hope again? This is not correct. Jesus is evident throughout the Scriptures, starting in Genesis. Read it all again. Pray and read and you'll get it. Actually, I was brought up by parents who let me decide for myself. My mother thought christian schools taught the best so from the age of 5 to 16 thay were the schools I attended. I used to, on my own back, go and sit in mass every morning before school for years listening to sermons. I even told my mother at the age of 6 I wanted to be christian, she replied of course you can, as soon as you are old enough to decide that for yourself. I have great parents. When I was 13 I decided not to, my choice with no outside influence. I am betting you were christian from birth too. |
