10/2 UPDATES Fireball Report: East Coast already 10/2 VA, NY, NJ, MD Major sightings again!

Sweet! Trying to find pics. Twitter is clogged with some new drink called a "fireball" so searching "fireball" is like sorting through a crowded bar for someone you're meeting.

Rhode Island...bout 1/2 hour ago. Looked sort of blue. Very high, very fast, silver-blue contrail of insignificant duration. SW at about 80 degrees.

LOL, I have noticed that too in the past. Try searching "huge fireball" and see if that has better results.

Another big one in NY:

it lasted long, the whole trail was quite wide, at the beginning it was as wide as the head near the head and perhaps about 20% to 30% toward the end of the trail. As I first saw it, it was stretching from Markab (alpha Peg) at the tail to Alpha Andromeda ( head of the fireball). I live in a very wooded area on the northwest side of a steep hill so it only appeared above the trees all of a sudden already at that huge size. Fantastic experience!

Comments Sitting out on balcony with my wife and we both saw the fireball in the east sky falling north to south. I have seen shooting stars before and this was not the same. Shooting stars in my experience typically appear tiny and shoot across the sky. This was larger, more prominent and detailed but still distant. No sounds were related. By far, the most awesome sighting I have experienced!

Comments Just got out of class at Touro Law Center, was chatting with two (2) other class mates and smoking a cig when I observed the event. Pretty Awesome! It seemed fairly low in altitude and had a sparking effect to it.

I saw a large meteor tonight, which is pretty unusual on Rt. 309 just outside of Philly.

Dammit!! I just saw what i thought was a fireball out here in California, it was way to the west, like maybe out over the ocean, very low in the horizon and headed south. I thought it might be a comet, but it was way too fast and left a smoke trail in our atmosphere. Dammit because it was over so fast i didn't have a chance to grab a camera.

This time of year i used to see fireballs all the time , i remember when i was young we used to play a game about guessing how many we would see on any given night.

This is normal you people make up doom scenarios about common every day stuff like that moon is sideways crap that was proven wrong everyone knows it!!!
