But as an agnostic, what difference does it make. Let's be 100% clear. You have to claim to be a practitioner. However, it's determined since before that the level of participation does not indicate a practitioner or not. |

Though I like the part about no SS or Medicaid taxes, my new employer is giving full medical. Hmmm.... “If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you." - Job 12:7,8 "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." - Hunter S. But as an agnostic, what difference does it make. Well, I do believe in some possible higher power and am looking at ways to expand my spiritual side so hmm, very tempting. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, OP. |

Quoting: fly on the wall Don't do it unless you really believe it. Most people here fit into the category, but I guarantee they will go crying the first sign of sickness to a doctor. You either do it or not at all. You want to scam the system so you scam a religion? What is that. |

SS and Medicare probably wont exist for those of us in our 40's, 30's, 20's, late legal teens. Other exemptions are being Amish, and being enrolled in the VA healthcare system. |

What is that. CS has loosed it's posture on the "no seeing doctors" a lot lately. Any religion should be approached sceptically, I see precious few people living up to the complete standards of any religion today. And no one is telling new christian to not join if they don't want to stone homosexuals etc. The last thing one should do is listen to anyone like the person above, when we let someone else set the limits of our beliefs, we stop being free people. |

Yes, but that's the kicker. Say a person in their 50's who's been working for the last 30 years had kept all their SS taxes, and bought gold over the years. Do you think they'd be better off or worse than had they stayed with SS? I personally believe that SS won't be around for much longer. |
