Get your ass back to that bank TODAY. Ask for certified bank drafts to your own name in $5000 increments (make up 5 of them).. They have to process it - it's in cash. goto a hsbc, and some other banks and open accounts in EURO FUNDS deposit them in the Euro denominated accounts. Also consider a quick trip up to Canada, since you are *not* carrying CASH but bank notes just go. Open some Canadian accounts... Now if their is a freeze (or not) you are much more protected. At the very least spread you money around a bunch of banks they will not all fail at the same time.. |

Probably reported you to the local police so they can watch you when you pick your money up, and they probably need to get some department of the interior guys lined up to follow you and document where you go. But if u live in the Midwest and sell meth and crack and you are not white you can get all the money you need any time of day no questions asked, you can pay cash for a house, have a new BMW and Cadi Escalade and not have a job and live on a neighborhood where 4 other cops live within yelling distance and you wont be bothered...as long as your not white. I know because that is happening in my town of 12,000. |

The virtual money on your accounts does not exist at all, thats the root of all problems. 90%-95% of all currency is vault money (virtual money, tiped in numbers), only the tiny rest exists in reality, the so called base money. If only 5%-10% of all banking deposits would be withdrawn, the banking system would crash instantly. |

If you needed that much right now, you could drag your ass to 6 real branches for it. If you don't want to do that then you didn't need the money and could wait the day. If you needed to buy something for $27,500, it would have required a cashiers check anyway and in some states you could go cash the check at a casino... |

It is pretty vucking sad that we are back to the 30's, stuffing mattresses and tea pots with dollar bills, level of confidence. This all so much worse than the 30's. They did not have Monsanto then. But OP, no, banks don't just let you take out $27,000 in cash in one go. When I originally moved to Chase from another bank named "Harris" in the area, they had no problem withdrawing/closing my account at the time which was $34k. I asked for $100 bills and they did it no questions asked. This was 3yrs ago. |

You never PUT $27,500 in cash IN the bank - how do you expect to take it out?! You put CHECKS in. Pieces of paper that SAY you have 27K cash. You did not put actual cash in. You never had it. You only had the PROMISE TO PAY in cash. Not the cash. Better to just write a big check for a chunk of land. Survival time, bro. |

There was nothing "denied" about it retard. BS.... most local branches only have limited cash. If you want to withdraw a large sum you must go to a main branch ^This. Branches keep an amazingly small amount of cash on hand to mitigate risk (robbery, employee theft). If you need more than $5k, it is best to call in advance, and 5-7 days is not unusual because they have to do exception paperwork to make larger than standard orders from Brinks (or whoever handles their cash delivery/pickup). Large branches may have more, but if they have higher fluctuations of deposit/withdrawals, they may be even more restricted on the daily cash out limit. |

If you are putting it into another account (not your mattress), most banks will allow you to wire the full available balance regardless of amount because that is an electronic transfer - not the risk of cash in the vault. You can also wire to another party, like if you got a cash price on a car purchase. A wire transfer would (same day) satisfy the cash requirement to the seller without having to wait for drips of withdrawals from the bank that could take weeks. Just another option. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 48294580 United States 10/16/2013 08:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They also have to fill out a special form and report you to the IRS for any withdrawal/transfer/deposit over $9,999. Quoting: Chrit I think the Patriot Act lowered that number to $5,800, at least DHS is notified. I recently sold my truck to an out of state buyer, 26K in cash. The small credit union that the buyer belonged to bitched and complained, but after 2 hours the cash was in my hand. The CTR is required for currency based transactions (deposits/withdrawals) over $10k.
