They seem to have forgotten the hundreds of rumors to either effect over the last week or two. Short-term memory issues I guess lol. Look butt cork, when Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell comes out and says the shutdown is over what do you think that means? McConnell does not speak for the House. He's a Senator where Republicans are a minority. The House, on the other hand, is where the largest block of Republican opposition is. This is where the fight has been all along. Why would the House "cave" now to some plan that originated in the Senate where some of the most vile, anti-tea party, anti- fellow republican rhetoric has come from? BTW, in our system of government, SPENDING BILLS MUST ORIGINATE IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The b.s. Obamacare law is illegal for the same fricken reason this budget would be illegal. These bastards have no regard for OUR LAW. Origination Clause All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills. Article I, Section 7, Clause 1 sit back and watch.. this was all a game anyways. now all the republicans who voted against it will say see we took a stand. but they will be more than enough moderate repub to vote with the dem to pass it.. sit back and learn kid. |

These bastards have no regard for OUR LAW. Origination Clause All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills. Article I, Section 7, Clause 1 Obamacare wouldn't fall under the term, "bill for raising revenue" because it raises funds for the program and not for government generally. The SCOTUS stated this much in a previous case regarding the Origination Clause. I want this law to go away as well, but the Origination Clause isn't going to be the way to accomplish it. As far as the Senates deal, if they amend the original CR the House passed then it would still be within the guidelines of the Constitution. Turdferguson audentes fortuna iuvat But the latter will, no doubt, be the melancholy fate of a people once inspired with the love of liberty, as the power vested in congress of sending troops for suppressing insurrections will always enable them to stifle the first struggles of freedom. ftownballa User ID: 48458070 United States 10/16/2013 03:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Conservative Organization Urges 'No' Vote On Senate Compromise Share Club for Growth, the conservative advocacy group, is telling House Republicans not to vote for the Senate’s compromise. As the conservative group Heritage Action did yesterday, Club for Growth is marking this vote a “key vote” on Representatives’ legislative scorecards: This announced plan, the details of which aren’t completely known, appears to have little to no reforms in it. There are no significant changes to ObamaCare, nothing on the other major entitlements that are racked with trillions in unfunded liabilities, and no meaningful spending cuts either. If this bill passes, Congress will kick the can down the road, yet again. Our Congressional Scorecard for the 113th Congress provides a comprehensive rating of how well or how poorly each member of Congress supports pro-growth, free-market policies and will be distributed to our members and to the public. Heritage’s opposition yesterday seemingly blew up an emerging House compromise. The implications of Club for Growth’s opposition aren’t yet clear |
