ISON, no matter how bright it does or doesn't get around the time of perihelion, will not be as prolonged or as conveniently located in the sky for people to see. For Dr. Astro, please remember when you explain things, that i think for most of the audience here, your terminology is unfamiliar. You are not speaking to your peers. I do not believe that your explanations are intentially meant to impress anyone or be demeaning. I understand how very difficult and time consuming it is to teach to a lower learning level.
