Creepy "Before I Die Sign" / Mason Symbols, odd location (title edit)

funny, never thought to look it up. Simply thought it was strange

my method is google first, lose titties later.

and here lies the problem with most of the posters here, why the hell wouldnt you look it up first??

Kids face death all the time...
death of pets
death of grandparents
death of parents
death of friends...

We all, children included, need to be taught that there is nothing to fear.

The project is to write down what is most important that we would like to accomplish before we get there. The project is about LIVING.

I am TELLING you, this area is NOT where there are "passer-byers" ... right next door to that lodge, is a funeral home! I will go back and take pics of the whole damn area if you want, nothing but a preschool/daycare type school a lodge and a funeral home and a lawyer office and actually another school type tutoring place that has the most ridiculous name, it is called "Kumon" hahahaha, I laugh every time I pass there because the name is Kumon hahahahaha. I know i know.

well, i still don't think it is a tittie-shedding event. It could be that the space for the billboard was given to them by one of the local businesses, or the funeral home themselves thought it would be a touching thing to do. I am sure it is a temporary campaign. and i dont think there is anything wrong with children seeing it, as long as they arent marched out of class and forced to participate. but death is normal and any child that had a pet knows the sting of loss.

Although the title of my thread lacks the typical "breaking" or "alert" catch, if someone else sees this as I do then hopefully it will get out there and people can gain knowledge of what's happening.

I live in New York, about an hour north of the city.

I find it very odd that the topic of life-long goals when speaking to children is conveyed in this manner. Why? Do you really want your kid thinking about death? Do you really think your kid will focus MORE on a particular goal by giving the child an end date of "death"????

Damn! When I was a kid it was, "when I grow up" not "before I die".

Ahhhhh, I tell ya, and then little johnny is like, "o man, timmy just died from cancer and he is like 12 i better get working on that goal" .... or .... "o snap, jane just kicked the bucket, she rolled down a hill and smashed her head i better start working towards my life-long accomplishments".

Well, it is actually worse, because these kids are younger. This sign is in front of a small daycare/school and the children are younger than 10 years old.

I hate the fact that kids can no longer be kids. I was blessed with a loving family and a great childhood. It is terrible to hear these stories of children being scolded for using their finger as a gun. Holy crap!!! I used to go full-on machine gun status using both arms and hands and spitting everywhere!!!! Whatever!

Are we totally screwed or what??? Should I dig a hole and jump in it? Eh, guess I will stick around above ground with the rest of you guys so we can get a front row seat and continue to be tortured with idiocy and illogical ideas and backwards progress (haha)

Right next door is a lodge, just thought it to be interesting and strange.

yea i hear ya, i guess in the end, it really doesn't warrant the titties being removed haha. thanks for your input on this. funny cuz i was sitting on these pics for weeks, didn't want to post in fear of getting in trouble for posting pics of my neighborhood.... meanwhile I get red karma for being an "attention whore" because of the thread title, geeze, i thought it was strange and wanted to share! ha, some people! while i have at least ONE persons attention, i really want to state that the dum dum from my area who walked around with a shotgun in public a while back, and then got in trouble AGAIN for being a dum dum, I got lots of red karma for being "biased" and "judgmental" but the kid is a chooch and we all know that! I had posted a thread on it and I stated that the kid looked like a real winner and I was bombarded with red karma. whatever.

OP: I agree with you this is extremely twisted and insidious. It is subconscious programming also known as predictive programming. Similar to the Kesha song "Die Young" which is aimed at teens instead of children. She claims she didn't want to sing those lyrics but her handlers forced her to. But really it is just the status quo for 'Popular' music these days...

There is plenty of time to learn about death when we are older, putting this is children's minds is not an accident, and it is not 'well meaning'. Don't be blind sheeplebots...

Calm down OP, DEATH is normal, natural, and necessary. Children shouldn't be taught to fear it. They should be taught to respect it.

I agree OP. Can't kids just be kids. My gosh. We are trying too hard to find something that will make them get on the ball and not lose a moment in time and go to college and join the rat race.
Why can't we just let them be little people for a while? Why can't we see the value in being a human whose entire being is not centered on being something in the eyes of the agenda world? People, I believe in making a living and growing and doing good stuff, but have you considered the agenda behind this type of thinking? Who comes up with these ideas. It is depressing even as an adult when the reason I do things is because I want to do it before death. Live for the moment--not for death.
