Re: Polar shift of the MOON Captured on film.
Old, stupid, and already debunked.
Thread: Calculating the Position and Orientation of the Moon
Thread: Yes, the "sideways" or "horizontal" moon is normal, even as far north as Colorado...
Thread: Oh look, the moon even looked "tilted" 370 years ago!
It's just field rotation, and yes the above spreadsheet even works when the moon is in a gibbous phase like in your video. For example:

Keep your eyes on the moon. During the beginning of the evening it's normal, but 2-3,4 hours into the evening it starts slowly rotating on it's axis to the right I believe. So the "face" we see is almost upside down... It's really creepy. If you folks don't believe me just watch for yourself. I first noticed it in the end of summer and I've been observing it ever since when there's no clouds, and it ALWAYS follows the same pattern: Normal at first, and then slowly starts rotating. Don't take my word for it, go out and look for yourself. It's not normal.

So glad someone else has been seeing the same shit. Msg me privately?

You mean like this photo I took from San Diego a couple nights ago?

Yeah, perfectly normal. Here's what the location and apparent orientation of the moon relative to the horizon was predicted to be for that location and time (my camera's clock is set 4 hours behind UT and runs about a minute fast):

Input
Year 2013
month 11
day 12
hour (UT) 6
minute 49
second 0
W Longitude (Decimal deg) 117.1625
Latitude (Decimal deg) (N+, S-) 32.715
Height above sea level (meters) 0
Pressure (mb) 1013.25
Temperature (Centigrade) 25

Lunar Coordinates
Apparent Right Ascension at Equinox of date
Hours 22
Minutes 59
Seconds 51.20

Apparent Declination at Equinox of date
Degrees -2
Minutes -11
Seconds -55.79

Altitude (degrees) 30.06
Azimuth (degrees, 0 North) 244.91

Lunar Phase
Phase (percent full) 71.95%

Orientation of Illuminated Portion Relative to Horizon (degrees from vertical) 74.59
Illuminated limb facing towards the horizon

This data comes from this spreadsheet I designed to calculate the apparent orientation of the moon:
Thread: Calculating the Position and Orientation of the Moon
Now if we take the above photo and de-rotate it by 74.59 degrees, here's what we get:
[link to imageshack.us]
Yeah, that's right, a nice "vertical" moon. Exactly as predicted.

It's field rotation, and nothing new.

Why do people keep posting these threads? Hve they never looked at the moon before in their lives?

Just field rotation. Happens EVERY night. The amount varies based on the observers location and the Moon's orbit but it is nothing new or out of the ordinary.

Are you an idiot that never looked up until the last few years? You've been shown references dating back to antiquity showing field rotation and apparently rotated moons. It is YOUR issue that you don't understand it and wish to troll instead.

Oh, look how you jumped in my other thread quickly after that dumb reply,

Thread: Freaky Moon At Noon ( IS-ON )

is it just a coincidence?
