Arne Duncan: ‘White suburban moms’ upset that Common Core shows their kids aren’t ‘brilliant’

Part of the problem is that the teachers are sub par these days.

They were poorly educated and like a copy of a copy, the system just keeps degrading.

I think (at least partially) the Common Core is because the teachers are too dumb to teach.

It's about time they tell people who sit on command, ask nicely to take a piss and wait till they are told to eat that they are NOT brilliant. As a matter of fact they are a dumb as a box of rocks. Their confusion of obedience and intelligence is why we all suffer today.

The government doesn't want teachers to teach. The want numbers, business models. Kids don't fit business models. Kids need to be taught how to live, not how to take tests. Some kids need 8 years of education while others probably need close to 20.

The government knows they are producing stooges. And they keep coming up with more programs to ensure kids become stooges and nothing more.

That's awesome...sounds like you're a born entrepreneur. I see a lot of that in my oldest and do everything I can to encourage those instincts.

I went to an expensive private college and got degrees in psychology and literature, along with a secondary teaching certificate. My parents paid my tuition and I will always be incredibly grateful to them for that.

I taught middle school and high school English for several years before my kids were born, so I did use my degrees but not as much as you would think. In addition to homeschooling our boys this is what I do now:



I make and sell art jewelry, and I've never been happier. I make enough money with it to contribute to vacations and other odds and ends but I'm working on growing my brand.

When I think of all the supplies I could have bought with all the money that went into my college education it makes me cringe.

Harvard educated scum who was appointed by a Princeton educated POS friend of his to run the worst school Chicago which he purposefully ran in to the ground to close it. Then the guy who hired him could reopen the school as a private charter school for profit. From there he was appointed to run the Chicago public school system. He then shut down school after schools which were turned in to private charter schools & military academies.

Chicago is still the most segregated large city school system in the country still to this day because of that man.

He wants to do the same thing with all the schools in the country, run them in to the ground and close them, then have friends of his reopen them as private schools, it’s his standard MO. Easiest way to do it is screw the students by teaching less than complaining when the students graduate unable to even go to community colleges.

He wants to make public education so bad there is no choice, you MUST send your kids to private charter school, it's working...

Now Gates is aligning himself with reform initiatives championed by President Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan. In fact, Gates helped out their $4 billion Race to the Top competition, which asks states to vie for federal education dollars by submitting proposals that include reforms Duncan favors. The foundation gave as much as $250,000 to each of 15 states so they could hire consultants to write their applications.

The initiatives that Duncan favors include the expansion of charter schools and judging teachers in part by how their students do on standardized tests. Much of the research on charter schools shows that they do no better than regular public schools with student achievement, and there is no evidence at all that linking teacher pay to test scores helps teachers improve.

This is about commie school text. No one siad their child was brilliant. For gods sake they change the way kids multiply and it is so ass backwards its not funny. Speaking of not so brilliant, is putting a NPP on a faultline, on the beach, in a known tsunami risk area. Japanese posters should be banned because of the ineptitude of your leaders when it comes to nuclear power, you are the ones who elect them and you are the ones who stay silent while your country is polluted for millenia.

Yeah, why is it that most suburban schools do much better than inner cities? Why do we live in suburban area? Less crimes, better stuff, better education and so on. (At least in Texas, I don't know about other states).

Seriously, how is it anti white? Our CC aligned tests were harder than the ones they replaced, but they were fair tests.

Now, maybe other states are not like NY. I can only report what's happening here in NY state.

That's GOOD though. It means that the whites aren't held back or bused into schools that are dangerous for them. Both common blacks and common whites prefer segregated neighborhood schools, going to school with kids like their own. This was obvious when the blacks complained about being bused to "better" white schools. I can't blame them!

The way to turn blacks and whites against each other is integration. Segragation allows each to have an appropriate environment and the normal good wishes for others can exist where there is no conflict because the schools are separate.

One of the aspects of Communist Core that hasn’t been discussed at any great length is the idea of creating a new generation, a new work force that has been educated in a specific way.

The plan is to know whether they are going to be a technician, a mechanic or a doctor. And then you funnel them through that system.
