I thought the same exact thing....

I just watched it and I think it has really good messages about awakening and knowing who you and every body else are, I believe it would be great to watch it in an altered state of mind (thc).

Yep. Saw it last night. It was a 2nd grade level 1984. To bad people are too stupid to heed the warnings. Star Wars has made billions of dollars from millions of people who just are not capable of transferring their understanding of the lessons about government tyranny in the movies to real life.

We have got to be one of the dumbest societies on the planet. Our entertainment on the big screen and the small is replete with serious real life moral stories that we cheer on with a bucket of popcorn and then completely ignore when we leave the theater or get off our couch.

Just saw it too. It seemed like communism until "Emitt" broke out of his world. Everyone was basically told how to think and follow "instructions," like how it ended though, letting people think/create for themselves.

Maybe those who know can point out the other aspects of Masonic symbolism in the movie in addition to the term "master builder".

A good message for kids to learn from then it seems.

Riddle me this.........if tptb work to keep everyone in the dark and have people in Hollywood to keep it that way (sheeple) then how do movies like this get released??? And the opposite messages seem to come from the same company.... For instance the NSA surveillance in a Disney's kid show versus the story of monsters Inc. also done by Disney

Because it's not left vs. right, which is two dimensional thinking. The game is to bounce the ball back and forth (left and right) to move the chattle towards a third dimension (ie, the goal).

Notice how many reviews say Emitt is a NOBODY.

But wouldn't the powers that be not want to have a movement towards the third dimension? It would bring down everything they've been fighting for and trying to keep in line

Maybe Warner Brothers has some decent people running it....unlike the other companies / producers.

We are not dumb. We are scared. The tests on mass psychology done show no matter who we are no matter where we are from - no matter who is 'in charge' or who we are 'in charge' of... over 50% of people will follow orders and literally torture when told to. They will also over 50% of the time see what the 'masses' see and not question it one bit. The propaganda urges the consensus & conformity that then 50% form and the rest of us then either conform to or have a thought in the back of our head. That thought in the back of our head is the truth but our mouths will never utter it. Our keystrokes will never type it - it only remains a thought, and idea that just maybe what everyone believes is wrong... but then they will think i'm a nut case if i say anything and i'm wrong so i should just shut up...

people will kill others on command for this very reason. We have been conditioned, anesthetized and made ready for the coming slaughter and all one can do is try to hide their head and not be an easy target - conformity is a perfect way to do this and it has allowed many families to survive generations... I am a product of this.

So to call 'us' as the US idiots or ignorant is simply wrong. many of us are just in fear of the police state and most of the world has been like this forever... there are not really many free countries in the world and the free'er they look, the less free they actually are if you start to dig deeper.

We as humanity have sold our souls to money and material instead of liberty which has always been on the table. The people that bought our souls and greed did not give us an unfair option - they had liberty on the table but that meant we didn't focus on money and material as much but we chose money and material so liberty is part of the cost... our grand parents and great grand parents bought this and those that didn't perished... everyone has a profit motive so to hate the banks or politicians is to hate yourself or your ancestry. You could always choose liberty over vanity and material wealth.

We are all a part of it, especially if we vote and actually care... if you spend money you are a part of it so unless you are completely homeless and use no form of currency and simply trade your efforts for resources and have no material objectives or designs on other people, you can consider yourself free of the system of control that has us in it's grip from the moment we are born until the minute we die.

The 'big data' being collected and used is just the beginning. Once they can establish patterns and ways to monetize and manipulate, the world will fundamentally change and it will be a very 'interesting' society but one that is no different than say the wild west or even the prohibition era... when you never knew the trouble that could come your way. We live in such an easy and convenient world and unless it affects you directly, why both worrying? Why bother worrying unless you are the one directly under the gun?

Just had another thought.

Maybe Warner Brothers sees the tide changing in the USA and is positioning themselves accordingly.

A huge Libertarian / Conservative movement is underway.
They may be anticipating the coming elections and
why FREEDOM / FREE THINKING / INDEPENDENCE is important over GROUP-THINK and CENTRALIZED CONTROL / GOVERNMENT.

That is of course, the theme the seem to be presenting in the Lego movie.

There are many points to these movies. Part of it is the 'evil' duality of fairness. They have to warn us before they do their 'evil' to allow their conscious to be free of guilt and shame. They think they are better and more pure than we are. They justify their games because they have warned us and given us a chance to surrender (think of old battles where the leaders would meet and try to work it out before killing everyone).

The protagonist, the 'simple guy' where 'everything is awesome' is actually the enemy, the unknown factor, the masses... could they lead themselves? the one thing that can screw them up is they don't know how, in mass, we will all be dealt with. One human, one one day can do a lot if their life is on the line.

All of the characters are big and little Emitt is supposed to be the little kid watching the movie. We are conditioning kids at a younger and younger age to accept their place in the world. There were some like myself in the early 80's and late 70's who were over-fed confidence but now-a-days it seems the more normal you make your kid feel, the better they are adjusted. I like that trend but makes you wonder where the next leaders of the world will be inspired from? Will we lose our place?

I think the powers that be are afraid of the average American person. We are quiet, unassuming but carry a huge amount of rage if necessary and where that goes is a huge question mark. Imagine 300 million enraged freedom loving people - they will have to kill us all at once.

Thank you all for writing your take on this movie. It is one I definitely will take the kids to. Sometimes it seems we only report on what is bad but it is so refreshing to see something good.

This is exactly what is wrong with our world today.

What I see....is that they aren't telling people to break away from the masses at all.

When a story is being told, it is human behavior to identify with the hero in the story.

People aren't being taught to break away from the masses or how to think. These movies are telling them WHAT to think...teaching people they are special and better than everyone else.

Consider....there aren't any discussions, stories or movies that point out the obvious flaw- that humans are easily controlled, they don't question, they dont use critical thinking skills. If these movies were really trying to wake people up, there'd be a lot less zombies running around. Instead, they are creating zombies.

My breakdown:

1) These movies that show the hero breaking away from the drone masses have been around for a long time. The message is quite common in movies, stories and music. Sometimes the message is obvious...sometimes not.

2) however, the VAST majority of people are still walking zombies that can't (or won't) break away from group-think.

3) ironically, the VAST majority of people think themselves more intelligent than they really are. (They identify with the hero)

4) when people watch movies about the hero breaking away from group-think, they actually identify with the hero and consider themselves ALREADY enlightened and ahead of the masses.

5) therefore, I think these movies aren't actually encouraging independent thought and breaking away from the zombie-state. Instead, they use the owner of storytelling to get people to THINK they are better thinkers than the rest of the sheep.

Loved this movie! Great introduction to the kiddies about how the world works. Was thinking similarly, if torn want us all to be zombies then why was this allowed out. Maybe some of them are seeing it differently. .. ok be can hope!!!

Because once something is "in a movie", then any attempts to bring it into the "real world" are mocked more easily by saing "yeah we saw that movie too, blah blah, get with reality you dreamer"

Its not much different from 8 mile where rabbit makes fun of himself so the other guy has nothing left to say.

See, we use the movies to explain - which steals the originality or authenticity of the thought and robs it of its power to inspire action. People can just watch someone else do it and then they don't have to do the work. They think that since they are not the hero in the movie that they can't achieve the same things, even if it is right and true.

Quite like most religions or cults. "Do you feel different? You are! And that makes you superior! Now Join our homogenized group of differentness and be just like us!

Do you really think Hollywood grew a conscious and wants to warn people?


These movies are actually used to keep people zombied. By identifying with the hero, people believe they themselves are already enlightened and better than the masses.

No one is teaching the masses HOW to wake up. Just the hero wakes up and thus viewers believe themselves a hero too...without any necessary work, or thinking, or awareness
