I remember him telling some story of his service in WWII.
He was a strong man and the story involved him tossing some heavy drum. I don't remember the details.

I recall one of the great stories of Sid in real life. Sid was immensely strong, and he wasn't afraid to use it. He was taking a cab in New York, I think with Howie Morris, and they got into some dispute with the driver. When they reached their destination, Sid angrily got out of the cab and walked over to the driver's door. The driver had his window halfway down. Sid asked the driver, "Do you remember your birth?" The confused driver looked up at Sid and said, "No. Why are you asking?" And Sid yelled,"Because you're about to reenact it!!"

With that Sid reached down with both hands and pulled the driver out of the cab through the half open window. Not a man to mess around with!!

Right? I could have sworn he died ages ago. I remember seeing an interview with Mel Brooks, who had some funny stories about Sid Caesar (also mentioned his enormous strength), and I thought he was talking in the past tense about him. I dunno, people keep dying more than once it seems.
