Anyone remember the Berenstein Bears? Proof of PARALLEL UNIVERSE??? | |

So we all kept pronouncing it with an "e".... than decades later after the effect from the collective consciousness wore off, we essentially read the word properly for the first time... now we are scratching our heads saying how did that happen. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49560280 This would be a more realistic, yet simple and boring explanation. Ummm No....... You must be young because you would know without a doubt that it was "e". Anyone who has read GLP for any period of time has acquired good knowledge mixed in with the 99% noise. The trick is learning to filter out the noise. Quote from Anonymous Coward (AC) |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49560280 This would be a more realistic, yet simple and boring explanation. And it would also require everyone to disregard the strong evidence that resides in their memory of the spelling with an "e". I know that's how I remember it, because that's how it was. I trust my own mind more than the reality show around me. So your explanation may be more boring, but it is not more realistic. This is all debatable! Who is to say which theory is more realistic. I think the parallel universe explanation is just as feasible an explanation as the theory that we all pronounced it wrong, possibly because the people in charge of the TV ads had it wrong, because humans do make accidents you know. We could have thought we remembered it having an "e", but it actually had an "a" all along. On the other hand, maybe it is some type of time slip or something cool like that. I'm open to all theories... just trying to add an alternative theory for us to chew on. That is what true science is. You examine ALL possibly outcomes and variables. |

Eleven-15 User ID: 66144985 United States 12/17/2014 03:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Okay, I'm going to try to explain this as well as I can and I hope it helps people understand Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66074770 Parallel timelines or alternate timelines are switched via human perception. The problem with switching them, is it has to be enough people's perception changes to cause the timeline to switch. So if enough people notice an event, it will switch the timeline. Anyone familiar with Terrance McKenna's work? Anyways, our timeline switched on September 11, 2001. It has switched before that moment as well, but people didn't have the ability to talk with many others about the differences as we do today. Events such as Pearl Harbor, and JFK changes the timelines. By the way, I 100% remember it being pronounced "Berenstein" and I bet if we could track it back to the point of change, it would be 2001. The REAL question, is who went through the world and removed the old copies and then brought this topic up knowing it would fuck with us? I might know. I remember seeing the "Berenstein" books and so many other important books. Mass quantities too. Most went to a company that recycles books for the paper. This is going to put me out on front street a bit but oh well. I worked at a very well known place that takes donations in mass quantities on a daily basis. I worked in the warehouse part of it. I remember telling a coworker "it's like somebody is trying to get rid of all our history". Like every county and state facility was clearing out their shelves. Tons of war history, constitution, law, science & space. Important reference books that are NOT thrown out due to yearly updates. I have some books that have "Library of Congress Catalog" printed in them. I have a few books stamped with "Dept. of Philosophy" City College of New York, New York. I have an old reprint of Joseph Goebbels "Communism with the mask off". Tons of books like that being thrown out. I have a 2001 "Harry Potter" calendar with what seems to be an aerial view of New York and a cloud of smoke image on the month of September right smack dab on the 11th. All the rest of the months have nothing on them. Anyhow, didn't mean to ramble on but that AC's comment reminded me of the books being destroyed. Please upload a pic to imgur of the Harry potter calendar. I have not seen that one yet. Thx Okay, give me a moment. EDIT:AC I have to dig a little deeper. I may even have to go up the road and physically go get it and snap new pics. I give you my word that I will have pics for you at the latest tomorrow. Anonymous Coward User ID: 60331222 United States 12/17/2014 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I first noticed this anomaly in 2006 after I had moved to a new house. While unpacking I had come across a pile of books from my childhood which included: "The Berenstain Bears, In The Dark". I immediately noticed the misspelling having read the book many times in the past. I definitely remember it being "The BerenSTEIN Bears" prior to the year 1999. Therefore the shift occurred sometime between 1999 and 2006. Not that it knowing the shift date matters much. I am personally inclined to believe the shift occurred between 1999 and 2001 because my life changed tremendously during this period and I did nothing to initiate such a change. My day to day experiences became so different from what I was used to that it felt like I was living in a bad dream. |

Those who misspelled or mispronounced couldn't have fucked up so bad as to mistake STEEN for STANE... we're talking thousands of people here. at one time period it was never pronounced "STANE" like a juice stain in the rug. You don't need to be so angry. I'm an American too. Don't take it so seriously. I wouldn't say angry as much as bewildered at how ignorantly you dismiss this topic. every page has new people posting about their recollections... and you believe every one of them is wrong. your single opinion outweighs hundreds of unique and congruent memories. the explanation why? because we're all stupid and too ignorant to remember things properly. sweet logic brah |

wiki name change User ID: 30000131 New Zealand 12/17/2014 03:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just found a video on YouTube explaining how the name "Berenstein Bears" had been changed to "Berenstain Bears," sometime in the last few years even on old, vintage items. This could be proof of a parallel universe if it really has been changed. If you do a search for it, everything comes up as "Berenstain" on the books and/or items, but most of the listings are for the "Berenstein" Bears, as if the sellers or posters remember how it USED to be spelled. Quoting: monkeytine I 110% remember it as "Berenstein," ALL my co-workers including parents who have bought the books for their children also remember it with an 'e,' but perhaps we could all just remember the spelling wrong? What could be the reason behind changing the name (even in the past) if it, indeed, has been tampered with? [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

SeaLass34 User ID: 22654722 United States 12/17/2014 06:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been unable to get this topic off of my mind since stumbling across it this morning.... I, too, absolutely remember the spelling being STEIN, Berenstein Bears. I called my Mom and one of my sisters, who also saw the books and cartoons numerous times throughout the years. Without hesitation, they both said the spelling was STEIN. (My Mom used to make coloring books loosely based on the Berenstein Bears for us kids and the children in her home daycare) One thought- and forgive me if this has already come up, but I know there was something printed regarding the Berenstein Bears books and dolls being used in concert with a big child-vaccination push several years back. The dolls and books were provided to Pediatric offices.... I'm wondering if that comes into play in any way (follow the money- who provided these in conjunction with the STEIN's; which pharm company, what drugs were they trying to push specifically, did the company have any issues with whatever they were pushing....) Just thought I'd throw it out there. OK, I'll dig it up....... Here are the deets, clearly not hidden or anything (from wiki) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berenstain_Bears "In the 1980s, the prominent vaccine manufacturer Lederle Laboratories licensed the Berenstain Bears for a promotional campaign encouraging children to get vaccinated. As part of the campaign, Lederle distributed Berenstain Bears stuffed animals and books to every pediatrician's office in the United States." It cites this link: Kleinfield, N. R.
