Anyone remember the Berenstein Bears? Proof of PARALLEL UNIVERSE???

This is all debatable! Who is to say which theory is more realistic. I think the parallel universe explanation is just as feasible an explanation as the theory that we all pronounced it wrong, possibly because the people in charge of the TV ads had it wrong, because humans do make accidents you know. We could have thought we remembered it having an "e", but it actually had an "a" all along.

On the other hand, maybe it is some type of time slip or something cool like that. I'm open to all theories... just trying to add an alternative theory for us to chew on.

It was Berenstein. I know it! I learned how to read and write at the time I was reading those books, so if it had been Berenstain I wouldn't have ever thought it was Berenstein at all. I have asked everyone in my office and every person has said that it was Berenstein. Not one person said 'stain. This is getting to the point where a guy in my office had his wife look at their kid's books and took a picture and sent it to him.

Just like I remember creeds front mans name as Eddie Vedder and not Scott Stapp. I know Eddie Vedder now is front man for pearl jam, and I listeneded to pearl jam for a long time, but I swear it was front man for creed who had the name Eddie Vedder instead of Scott Stapp as front man

I first noticed this anomaly in 2006 after I had moved to a new house. While unpacking I had come across a pile of books from my childhood which included: "The Berenstain Bears, In The Dark". I immediately noticed the misspelling having read the book many times in the past.

I definitely remember it being "The BerenSTEIN Bears" prior to the year 1999. Therefore the shift occurred sometime between 1999 and 2006. Not that it knowing the shift date matters much.

I am personally inclined to believe the shift occurred between 1999 and 2001 because my life changed tremendously during this period and I did nothing to initiate such a change. My day to day experiences became so different from what I was used to that it felt like I was living in a bad dream.

That is probably more of a matter of you confusing them cause they are both very lame dorks who are super full of themselves.

A couple days ago at work I had mentioned this thread, and the whole Mandela effect to a co-worker that I know for a fact I had a conversation with in relation to this subject. He did not recall at all. Several others ALSO do not remember me asking about the Berenstein bears, even though I know I had asked.... I pulled up this thread and showed it to one of them.... doesn't remember it at all. and then two days later that exact thread gets pinned again out of the blue?

As a Child, I thought it was Berenstein, can't say I remember actually seeing it that way but always pronounced it Berensteen.
In 1991 I began working in child care and remembers reading these books to the kids and thinking how Funny it was that I had always had the name wrong because at least in 1991 it was BerenstAin. 100% positive.

But I also wanted to bring up something else I ran across on the internet. Does anybody remember from the 90's that no-tear shampoo and conditioner for kids? I distinctly remember the commercial saying no tears, like you wouldn't cry if it got in your eye. And now the bottle says no tears, like it won't tear your hair.

I'm not sure if what I wrote made sense. Hopefully somebody understands.

I always thought it was Berenstein as a kid. Pronounced it "steen" and everything, had the books and tapes, loved them.

Was looking for something in the garage the other night and found one of the old books, purchased sometime in the 80's. It's Berenstain. Tripped me right the fuck out.

I remember Berenstein and it always being pronounced as Berensteen. As in the case of some other posters, I never saw or heard Berenstain until I came across this thread. Definitely freaky. I vividly remember always wondering why the -stein spelling was pronounced -steen. Now I wonder a whole lot of other shit. lol

I've been unable to get this topic off of my mind since stumbling across it this morning.... I, too, absolutely remember the spelling being STEIN, Berenstein Bears. I called my Mom and one of my sisters, who also saw the books and cartoons numerous times throughout the years. Without hesitation, they both said the spelling was STEIN. (My Mom used to make coloring books loosely based on the Berenstein Bears for us kids and the children in her home daycare)

One thought- and forgive me if this has already come up, but I know there was something printed regarding the Berenstein Bears books and dolls being used in concert with a big child-vaccination push several years back.

The dolls and books were provided to Pediatric offices.... I'm wondering if that comes into play in any way (follow the money- who provided these in conjunction with the STEIN's; which pharm company, what drugs were they trying to push specifically, did the company have any issues with whatever they were pushing....)
