1. Not every building in that video lost power. If it was an EMP, EVERY building would have lost power.

2. If the city gets it's power back within a week, it wasn't an EMP

Ya gotta love the plausibility of that one.

You can bet most major governments have many plausible excuses lined up for any situation they wish to have us not look into further. This one's pretty excellent, at least for the short-term.

If one or more EMPs went off in the US, I can hear Obama saying something like, "A cascading electrical failure, due to a lightning strike on a power station in Ho-ho-kus, NJ has caused an interphase short-circuit of major distribution lines. This has resulted in extensive, yet temporary power disruptions to most of the US. Authorities are working hard to get your power restored quickly."

Granted, nobody would hear this message, lol.

And meanwhile, almost all electronics would be completely fried, never to work again.

Would some lights stay on if an EMP? I wanna say yes because of generators but wouldn't they be zapped too?

I can see a few vehicles moving but I don't see any lights in the buildings (like the one in the foreground looks like some kind of office/admin building but no lights).

Looked like a big transformer or power station blow out. That white / blueish light screams "Electrical failure" to me, and ofcourse, all the lights going out.
