I would have to seriously reconsider what shows I watch. I love Game Of Thrones but I sure don't need the scents that might come along with it.

I remember about 15 years ago a company was working on a similar thing... their target was video games... specifically war games... they wanted gamers to smell the mud and gunpowder...

they were working with a smart hot plate that dispersed the smell through the room... it would be loaded with refillable cartridges of some liquid stuff... that would combine and create the smell that was associated with what was happening on the game...

never did hear anything else about it...


Silly aint it? Not really... the sense of smell is one of our most important senses... Its highly disregarded and is underrated...

Introducing smells into mediums such as movies and games is another step towards a Total Immersive Virtual Reality...

Of course if you had a VR system running you could just send signals to the brain that suggests we are smelling something that isnt actually there...
