Anonymous Coward User ID: 67173080 Spain 01/19/2015 07:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lol. A couple in Spain were each fined in Spain last week cos the passenger gave the driver a kiss. Seems like they had stopped at the lights or something when she leaned over and carried out the not so dirty deed. Don't know what the driver got but the passenger was separately fined 80 euros. |
Norml85 User ID: 46322755 United States 01/19/2015 07:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | American drivers are already distracted with their phones. I am all for a eating ban while driving. Who the hell eats in their cars anyhow? Crumbs everywhere. I don't even allow my kids to eat in the car. I certainly wouldn't do it, lol. It's the only reason I've been able to drive as much as I have accident free. For a driver with even a year's experience, it's just normal. Now let's get back to that stupid video of a cop dancing at the wheel with both hands in the air and shaking around to Taylor Swift... |

People crash because they are distracted, hamburger or not. |

telling it straight User ID: 67106081 United States 01/19/2015 07:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Seems the new "distracted driver" laws most states are passing means that in the car you can't look at that phone at all for any reason. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 33435073 United States 01/19/2015 07:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Someone I know got a ticket for checking his phone while completely stopped at a red light. That's outrageous. Quoting: telling it straight Seems the new "distracted driver" laws most states are passing means that in the car you can't look at that phone at all for any reason. Quoting: SN7 "Maybe I was enjoying the burger too much. I needed to tone it down,” driver Madison Turner told the station. “I was certainly willing to do so but I didn’t expect to be fined or punished.” Cobb County Court would not comment to WSB-TV because the case is ongoing, but Turner's attorney said he expects it to be overturned because many drivers, himself included, eat and drive." - [link to gma.yahoo.com (secure)] Geeze, I eat and drive frequently. Annihilation User ID: 2616367 United States 01/19/2015 08:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is because you are suppose to keep two hands in the wheel .. I know it's illegal in CT because I got caught in a seatbelt check and was eating a wrap and he could have ticketed me .. No eating or drinking but suprisingly you can smoke?! If your dreams don't scare you.. they aren't big enough. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 44329723 United Kingdom 01/19/2015 08:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You can't have food or a drinks container in your hands whilst operating the steering wheel at the same time.. think here it comes under 'driving without due care and attention,' with a fine or points on one's license. But, no problem with picking at food like chips or drinks if reaching for them on the dashboard, passenger seat or one's lap. I've lost many a Mars bar driving when spooked by a cop car nearby, incase they said sommat.. so dropped it.. like I'd drop a mobile phone. |
superfluous moon User ID: 67088213 Australia 01/19/2015 08:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | as ridiculous as this sounds, based on this world's illogical logic, drive thru will one day be banned because it encourages people to drive distracted. there will prob even be a hashtag campaign callng parents killers for driving thru and eating a quick burger and fries on the way to soccer. |
