Still, can't believe the prices and shrinkage of the products at the grocery store today.
Seems like the cereal boxes are shrinking again.

everyone should boycott them for that and switch to paper towels or kleenex, and send them letters to put the toilet paper back to normal size, because itis now to small and causing health problems, because it doesnot work anymore.

I don't think it matters how big the rolls are.

Mathematically, my doupes use 1/3 of a roll 85% of the time.

Toilets need bigger poop shoot holes.

They're also doing this with frozen french fries, frozen juice concentrates, carbonated drinks...and they also increase the shelf price, really pisses me off.

Noted the TP a few months ago. Also saw the earlier thread about it. That doesn't give me cause for pause.

However, every month it seems that I'm seeing a 50 cent rise in the price of everything. Now, the sale prices are what we had been spending on things last year.

I watch the flyers before I go shopping and write lists of what to get where, and always hit Safeway on Friday morning while they still have a good selection on their $5 Friday items.

This is the year we really get serious about gardening. We've had the raised beds for 3 years, but were new into gardening and lost a lot of produce. Who knew that gardening wasn't just second nature? We do, now. When sweet potatoes (non organic) go for 1.79 a lb, and red leaf lettuce is 2.49 for a smallish head, and bok choy is 2.29 for three small heads, I think I'm gonna do gardening right this year.

They give you less and charge you the same (or more).... That's corporatism for you - always trying to squeeze the most profit out of the 'consumer'.... God forbid they actually give the customer what they want and make them so pleased with their product that they happily keep their business with that company...

It isn't just products that are shrinking, so are the number of store shelves. Most of the stores i frequent now have large open areas between the cash registers and where the aisles begin. The space between the aisles has grown wider also. This has been done over a long period of time incrementally so as not to scare the people. They've been tricking us for a long time now but it's blatantly obvious now and can't be hidden. Everyone knows things are really bad but very few want to talk about it and seem to choose to ignore it. But we will still have our politicians lying their heads off about the economy. Some things truly do never change!

They are using less sheets but marketing them as "thicker" to cover up the deception. Best buys that are not John Wayne-type are still original White Cloud, and if you can find it, Fiora (350 sheets). I was fed up as well and did the research.
