Quoting: ManticoreAre they both descended from the Egyptian saviour cult of Osiris? Or is it all a big coincidence? Your OP is complete BS. Mithraism does not have the list claimed. Link? Catholicism has some similarities. Catholicism is not biblical christianity. |

And for those saying that Christianity is the true faith, blah blah blah, Satan knew about Christianity before it was founded, blah blah....Here's food for thought. If Satan knew about Christianity before it was formed, and the Bible was written by men, who are easily corrupted by Satan....How do you know you aren't covertly worshipping Satan himself? Which is the problem with people arguing over religion. Everyone thinks they are right. If there was some benevolent being pervertedly watching everyone from a sky cloud he can see everything from, wouldn't they allow people to worship them in their own form? Perhaps in a way that different people of different cultures could appreciate equally? Not everyone is the same, and different people from different backgrounds will believe a different way. Logically, if I were omnipotent, I would realize this and allow different religions with "Insert Name Here" and have them all be me :P Most religions have similar basis. Mostly, they attempt to teach good moral values. Don't kill each other, don't fuck your neighbor's wife, so on and so forth. Don't be stupid, unruly children, and you can come home :P Think of it like being a parent with a bunch of incessantly arguing children. Why? Because Jim Carrey is god. In a pink tutu. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 29990891 United States 12/16/2012 07:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The ancient cult of Mithras was surprisingly similar to early Christianity:- Quoting: Manticore1. They both believed in the existence of the soul, and the existence of Heaven above and Hell down below. 2. They both believed in final judgement, with the faithful being saved. 3. Christianity adopted December 25th as the birthday of Jesus, a date which had been previously reserved for Mithras' birthday. 4. Both Mithras and Christ were supposedly visited by shepherds and the Magi. 5. It is claimed that both considered their holy day to be Sunday. 6. Mithras performed miracles, healed the sick, raised the dead and cast out demons too. 7. Mithras carried the "keys to the kingdom of Heaven", just like St Peter. 8. He even had a Last Supper with twelve disciples, each representing a sign of the Zodiac. There are more striking similarities here. [link to en.wikipedia.org] What do you make of this? What do I make of this? Any idiot knows that Satan COUNTERFEITS everything that God does. For everything genuine, there is Satans counterfeit. This is such a simple truth, and yet so impossible to see, for the spiritually blind. That is very much true.....and the counterfeiting is pathological and often reflexive defense....like they are laying a foundation for creative deception before the need arises. When Ann Coulter started calling liberals....satan worshippers....ya got to roll your eyes. |
