I have been studying the night sky for about 15 years. Now not a formal education, but I have star charts, magazine subscriptions, and thousands of hours of observation time. I work second shift, and get off work at 8:00 PM and do not go in till 12:00 noon. So, you can say I am well suited to comment on this thread.

Now, to all of you who say this is Venus. . .never in my life have a seen anyone so foolish. This large object in the western sky has been growing in magnitude every time it is observable. I am the owner of a Wesco 2366 sky magnitude measure-a-do-hickie and the measurements say. . .

I know a couple of years ago someone mentioned a bright star and everyone kept posting back that it was Venus; However, I have watched that star now for two years in the same spot and it is getting bigger. Heck, we run around like program machines now and don't even notice. I live way up North where the sky is crystal clear not full all the time with chemtrails, and I am telling you; I have never seen anything like it in the sky in my 53 years--you would think everyone would be talking about it, but even my hick country neighbors up here have not said a thing. I mean its big and larger than two years ago. You will see it right after sunset about 10:00 in the sky. It will be gone by Midnight any credable answers other than its Venus because I know its not.

So funny to read this thread /oh, but not really. I was on an AA flight last night from LGA to ATL and that 'star' grabbed my attention for most of the flight. I took numerous pictures however the 1st was bazaar to say the least.

I looked at star charts a couple of years ago and it was not even close to where Venus was suppose to be.

Venus don't get brighter every year, but it's at mag -3.8 now and will brighten to mag -4.18 in the beginning of July.
