I live in Dixie County in North Florida - Our county still has the 10 Commandments in the Courthouse Steps (Like a 20,000 lb slab of granite) and the Confederate Flag being flown in front of houses EVERYWHERE and in the back of trucks here everywhere. It is quite a site to be seen.

I am not religious so the 10 commandments display is not important to me but the fact the NAACP sued over it AND LOST I find funny as hell.

People really do as they wish here and nobody really screws with you. If they do it is usually a bad thing for them as people here tend to deal with things directly themselves and is a lot of marsh / wetland here. LOL

Columbia County here - family in Marion - never loved a swamp so much! Any 20 minute drive around guarantees at least 5 Rebel flag sightings.

Not too many NAACP peoples around the country parts out here - I guess no cities around to loot?

I am from the Orlando area and when I moved up here I could not believe the difference.

One of the bars here I go to had a bumper sticker on the wall right above the cash register that has a picture of Lincoln on the left with the statement "Don't Re-nig in 2012" to the right.... LOL HANGING ON THE WALL.

People have no problem stating their minds OPENLY here.

There is no booning out here or acting up -- the black folk that we do have living in our county behave and are as polite to everyone as the whites are. The mexicans are as well. Everyone here knows their place (white, black, hispanic) and nobody causes problems for anyone else.

Now back in Orlando and forget about it, SOUTH FLORIDA, different story.

Since when is a flag offensive? It is simply a banner you fly that represents what you believe in. The rebel flag is not racist just because someone claims it....Its not up to them to decide what it represents, that rest solely on those who fly it.

When an enemy looks to win a war or battle, the flag is always the apple of their eye.

Hi neighbor. Wish I felt safe to give names because if we don't know each other we probably know someone in common.
Hubby was born here and manages a company in LC. Just over the overpass on the 4 lane. If you know what I mean stop in give your name and say hello.
