Ben Carson is absolutely right!! Carson should at least be made a Vice President because he is the most intelligent man of all the others!! It's really pretty simple.

If your religion requires ultimate allegiance, then you cannot swear an oath that contradicts it. Islam requires that it be the ultimate guiding principle in the follower's lives, forsaking all others.

The Constitution and Islam are not consistent with each other, in fact they contradict each other specifically in regards to the Establishment Clause. Ergo, a follower of Islam cannot swear a bona fide oath to the Constitution in good faith.

The United States Constitution provides for the establishment of a purely secular government, accepting all religions as equal.

The sad thing is that the Free Exercise Clause will not allow the creation of a law to preclude a follower of Islam from becoming President.

A follower of Islam will laugh and swear a hollow oath to the Constitution, knowing where their real allegiance lies. Their religion demands it.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is the favored presidential candidate among Republicans attending a major political event in Michigan.


Paul got the biggest percentage of votes cast, 22 percent, in the unscientific straw poll released Saturday night at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference.

The survey was conducted by The Detroit News and MIRSnews.com. It is done mostly for fun and could be a weak predictor of candidate success in the March primary election.

Of the 2,200 conference registrants, 785, or about one-third, participated in the straw poll.

Former tech executive Carly Fiorina took 15 percent of votes cast, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich at nearly 14 percent, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz with 13 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at nearly 10 percent.

The top five vote-getters among the 16 candidates on the ballot are the five who attended the conference on picturesque Mackinac Island in northern Michigan.
