OP is correct. That is one method they will use to restrict gun rights. They can never get an outright gun ban, but they could restrict them extensively using tactics like that.

I don't understand why everyone overlooks this. They stress "mental illness" everytime there is a shooting but fact is majority of people with a mental illness are not violent, just victims of bad circumstances.

If they truly take away the guns for this, how many police will loose theirs?????

10 years ago we had 10 000 aghd diagnosis in Sweden.
Today we have 120 000 adhd diagnosed in Sweden.
They tried to make me one of them but I outsmarted them by totaly leaving the system.
I think this is a dangerous path for humankty to take.
It reeks of fachism.

Forms of Mental Illness...

(1) I need a gun to protect my family....

(2) Guns don't kill people, people kill people....

(3) The world is a safer place with guns...


The ridiculous thing is... that many people suffer from the main mental illness.. that (1) consists of only about 3 to 10 people, being their immediate family... yet cannot see that the population itself is actually family... and extended families that argue, who have access to guns, can kill each other very easily...

With a population suffering from (1) that cannot see that all living things are family... then (2) comes to play a part in the further illness of society...

(3) is justified for further protection from 'enemies'...

though if people just awoke to the fact the we are all family, guns would be frowned upon at the very least...

Police should not even have to carry guns.. or exist... if we could just see we are all part of the same prison ward family...

If you're ever diagnosed you can't get it removed from your medical record.
I was trying to figure out how "they" know you have a mental illness when buying a gun and I'm guessing Obamacare and required "electronic medical records" keeping by every provider is how. Now that records are electronic, they can be accessed from anywhere by anyone. If you have Obamacare copies of your records are probably being sent to a special server if you've been diagnosed with a mental illness.

Also... Take notice to the multiuse for certain drugs these days. A great example would be antiseizure meds. Drugs such as Trileptal and Depakote started off being used to treat seizures but now they are being used to treat bi-polar disorder... So if you're taking one of these meds for seizures they could turn around and say you're on a mood stabilizer and screw you that way.

I think they are going to screw us over in the end using bogus knee-jerk fiagnoses.

Hopefully, religion and "faith" will be classified as mental illness in the near future. People hearing voices and talking to their imaginary friends should not be allowed to have guns.

Well if it wasn't for "religion" the United States wouldn't even exist. Our founding fathers did a lot of talking to "imaginary" people and they carried guns and thank God they did!!!
