You are right. I wish there was a way to tell immagrants apart. One wants to exploit and is a criminal. One wants a better life for their family. As an American soldier I fought for those people. We need to welcome those people with open arms. Legally of course. But if the laws are too hard then work on them. But still follow the law. No amnesty. All must follow the law. But my heart breaks for these people that want better for their family. What if you were in that situation? I always think about it from their pov. I would do anything for my family. Wouldn't you?

I would do pretty much anything for my family but not for someone else's family. These people would do nothing for my family, even the economic migrants who want "a better life for their family".

As an American soldier you were entitled to whatever motivations you had, but I am surprised you were fighting for foreigners. Perhaps you're a foreigner yourself. Whatever.

We have a legal immigration system whereby some immigrants are accepted and some are denied. This is the only option for proper immigration. Those who try to sneak in but don't commit a crime can go to the back of the line in the legal system and try there, but they are not entitled to be selected over others who may fit our criteria better.

What we're getting across our southern border is the losers from Mexico and Central America, who could not make it in those countries and are seeking a more forgiving economic environment here. (There are plenty of middle class and professional people in Mexico, and they would never lower themselves to sneak into a foreign country illegally.) On the contrary our official system is designed to select those who are most likely to contribute here economically, and to reject the losers.
