So I dont eat seafood anymore just in case.

I eat local shrimp only and buy at the dock if I have to.

There was a stretch where every night I would shrimp by boat from 10pm until 2am or until I had buckets of shrimp or was almost out of gas.

I towed 2 nets 10 by 10 by sixty long off a thirty foot formula speedboat.

This is exactly why I stopped eating shrimp . Not sure how it really helps them in their abuse but I cannot in good conscience enjoy one shrimp without thinking of some enslaved young kid .

Hmmmmm I work on a site clearance boat which is a shrimp boat that picks up trash and We call them shrimp. As a matter of fact I have worked with a lot of shrimpers all along the gulf of mexico and they call them shrimp too. I don't think I have ever met a prawner or a prawn boat captain. As a matter of fact I don't think I have ever seen a prawn boat in My whole 20 years on the water. I'm sure You are a big expert on the subject since You probably ordered prawn on a damn menu.

North American companies and stores knowingly dealing with these companies need to be tried and fined/imprisoned.

What the fuck are ya gonna do? If the shrimp isn't GMO, tastes good and you don't have the power nor capital to put a stop to something like this, then there is no reason not to eat it.

Even if you become an activist actively fighting against this as sad and wretched as it is to say - it'd be damn near impossible to put a stop to it, especially from way the fuck on the other side of the globe.
