Switzerland is so damn expensive that $2,500 a month won't cause that many people to stop working. But this shit won't work. Giving people a bunch of money will only cause prices to rise to compensate. If you don't yet understand that, you should go read up on Austrian economics.

That is all it's meant to be. They are counting on the fact that the average human feels a sense of accomplishment and pride at a job well done. This gets rid of the welfare state. That is all. The welfare state is poison for all. Working people will get the fun extras like entertainment and eating out, buying clothes and vacations. These things boost the economy. The quality of life is enhanced for everyone. It is a win-win situation.

The only good side of this is getting rid of bureaucracy = higher unemployment for the gov hordes.

How can you not see the downside? Homeless are in their situation because of their past choices. What makes you think a free handout would take them off the streets and not into more trouble using drugs and alcohol. The homeless need basic things like shelter and food not a couple thousand dollars to blow on strippers and cocaine. All of this money will also increase consumerism, pollution and carelessness. The capitalists are lining their pockets for the states tax money and everyone gets excited. Maybe eating all of that Modified food and breathing that shit air has completely turned everyone into zombies.

I rented out a place there a few years ago and it was around 900 francs a month. Food and gas there are the only things expensive. If you're cooking at home it's usually fine.

The people who thought this up don't know human nature. To get out of bed and be creative each day you need to be inspired. Inspiration does not come from a welfare check.

I am experiencing it now because I was made redundant and I am on welfare. So I am not pouring rubbish on people who accept welfare. I am doing 12-15 applications a month, for 13 months, and have not had a single interview. I have 39 years of full-time work experience.

I am lucky I have driving passions and have "been down the rabbit hole" so to speak for many years. This makes me want to get out of bed and forge a life.

Many, but not all, of people receiving a "citizen's payment" will slow their life down to a standstill and become welfare-dependent. Not a happy state of affairs.
