For all we know they could be attempting to blackmail him, or maybe they are trying to bargain with him in attempts to save their hides. Either way its best he meets with them and talks to them to see what they want, and what they stand for. Only then can he make an informed first hand opinion of them. You also have to remember that just because a person is in a certain group or certain organization (like the CFR) doesnt always mean they are 100% for whatever that group does or stands for. Many do enter to infiltrate and change it from within. It was a very common tactic with communists. And in most recent times its very common among organized crime groups (like how latino and black gangs have infiltrated US military positions). |
