they said they were robbed at gum point by assailants who had police badges then the only proof of that night show these same athletes arriving back at the Olympic center at 7am with all the items they reported as taken during the robbery.

now the story is changing......

this is not kidnapping....it is now a case of filing a false police report.....
and there may not have been any altercation?????

no one can even find the cab driver....no witnesses....

only the video showing all the athletes involved arriving laughing and joking with all their personal belongings 3 hours after they reported arriving after having been robbed.

they would be in the same trouble in any country.


seems like several athletes on the USA swim team had some trouble getting political with the press.....they might have been better following Micheal Phelps and not L King.

i would not want to be Brian L today.......he slipped out of the country and left his partners in crime in Brazil to face the charges......which carry up to 5 years in jail.

and so you know of the 4 only 3 are still in Brazil.

it would not have been so bad but these USA athletes told the officials they were robbed by some one with a POLICE BADGE!

You don't know third world do you? Cops don't give two squirts of piss to solve crimes. The only reason they are doing this is to save face. Even in the USA where they do take crime solving seriously, a visiting tourist would NOT BE PULLED FROM A PLANE AND DETAINED for giving an ALLEGED false police report... repeat ALLEGED. So the victims ARE BEING KIDNAPPED and held against their will.

There is ZERO evidence the victims did not get robbed. They said only money was taken which if it were real cops doing the crime they only want untraceable cash.

There is only a SUSPICION maybe just maybe the story is not entirely true.

Imagine if you got robbed and went to police and they said we don't believe your story and therefore you cannot go home. That is kidnapping and 3rd world shit.

Remember there are multiple stories. On the news they were reporting what the mom said which is third person. It's possible Letche embellished the story to his mom which is NOT ILLEGAL in any way and then she told the press about it. That may explain inconsistencies.

The story the victims gave to cops, only the cops know the details. And it's quite possible... probable... they will lie about it.

I live in third world and know how they roll. It is not an honest place to be. You have to live and do business here extensively to know the true meaning of corruption.

but they got drunk and acted like usual American aboard....STUPID.....messed up a gas station...then tried to flee after the police were called....then their cab driver would not leave the sence the ran to another cab whose driver too did not leave....it was then a armed security guard held them waiting for police.....after some time the athletes made some deal gave some cash for repairs and were let go BEFORE the POLICE ARRIVED!

then later made the who story up.....

4 American asshole athletes detained by Brazilian government for getting drunk, buttfucking in public, vandalizing a bathroom, lying to authorities about being robbed by police, and trying to skip the country to avoid responsibility.

I take it you've never been to Brazil or the third world. The police there are extremely corrupt. They don't care about solving crimes, especially involving Americans. When I was down there years ago I knew some people who lived there and they told me to never carry much money and let on that you were an American because it was a good way to get robbed. I don't know if the swimmers are telling the truth or not but I'd sooner believe them. As for me I'm not going back to Rio anytime soon..

None of them filed a police report. Lochte told his mom he was robbed at gunpoint. And in fact, two dudes in security uniforms pulled out guns and demanded money before they left. With the language barrier, you don't know why they were asking for the money.

So just not telling the truth to your mom, and having your mom tweet it, is a crime punishable by being imprisoned in Rio for years? I can understand actually if they filed a report and asked police to investigate it.

They did inform the police, they had no choice but to after Lochte's mom repeated to the media what her son had told her. No money was demanded, the swimmers were demanded to stay where they were until the police arrived to deal with them, instead they opted to offer to pay for the damage they caused and fled.

There is ZERO evidence of the ALLEGED damage the athletes caused. No photos or even specific description. As far as we know there may have been NO damage whatsoever. Maybe one of the drunks pissed on the floor accidentally or whatever. When they go to leave uniformed guards pull guns yelling in Portuguese. Apparently a bystander translated the situation but the bottom line from the athlete's point of view they see it as a SHAKE DOWN and threw them the money so they could get the hell out of there fast. From that point of view it WAS A ROBBERY. They didn't lie.

Since when is getting drunk and acting like an ass punishable by extortion and kidnapping?
