" Callum MacDonald sparked concern because he was not talking or even making any sounds.
His worried mum, Claire Copland, thought he might be autistic and sought help.
She eventually put her son through music therapy, which involves listening to specially composed tunes.
Within hours of hearing the music, which composer Yaatri believes is beamed down to him from heaven by angels, Callum spoke his first words.
He has since come on leaps and bounds and shocked his mum and dad, David MacDonald, by telling them he loved them.
Hotel worker Claire (35) said, âItâs amazing. Before he couldnât talk at all and we were worried about him. We thought he should have been much further on with his speech than he was. But since we started the music therapy the change has been unbelievable.â?
âThe other night he told me he loved me out of the blue. It was the best gift Iâve ever been given.â?
After being a lively outgoing baby, Callum became a silent toddler who did not seem to like company and hated going to playgroup or being with other children.
Claire and joiner David became concerned and, comparing his progress to that of their nephews and nieces, decided he needed help.
The couple were advised to try the New Hope Centre in Perth, which offers a host of alternative and complementary therapies.
Experts there discovered Callum had extremely sensitive hearing. His young ears were taking in every noise and amplifying it to the point where he could not make sense of anything.
So it was easier for him to simply shrink away into his own little world rather than trying to make sense of the sounds.
But as soon as he listened to the music â which Yaatri says came to him after he spent three years meditating in the Himalayas â Callum underwent a dramatic change.
Claire added, âAs well as not talking, Callum didnât understand anything you said to him. He wandered around with a kind of glazed look and didnât react to anything you said.â?
âNow he responds to everything. We canât believe the effect the therapy has had.â?
