Me. Mormon. Don't drink alcohol, smoke, or use drugs. But legalizing and regulating weed is less expensive than fighting it is. It's less harmful than alcohol, too. So there.

Me, had some baked goods one time at work (horrible idea) but pulled through it like a champ. Never smoked the stuff before though and haven't used it since. If it is legalized I am definitely going to grow some plants (AZ). Why not?

I don't smoke it, but I worry about the economy made up of people who have fallen through the system and can only depend on pot production for a living.
What happens to them if big industry takes over the cottage industry?

I have little interest in smoking it, but it is absurd and oppressive to make it illegal.

I want LSD, and no one is talking about making it legal.

Well, me, for starters.

I don't smoke at all.

I don't believe that it should be made legal for general consumption...our population is dumbed down and drugged out enough already.

But it should be widely available to the medical professionals to treat a variety of illnesses, from glaucoma to cancer, where it has already proven to outperform pharmaceutical options. The discretion for prescription should be left to the medical professionals, who know more about their patients than anyone in Congress.

Me. Never smoked a cigarette, much less a joint.

Why legalize? Drug war is a multi-billion dollar fraud that pads the pockets of politicians and lawyers. It is the lifeblood of the prison industrial complex, which is highly profitable and one of the ways our government conducts population control.

I've also never purchased the services of a prostitute, but I believe it should be legal. What business is it of yours how someone decides to earn their living? Is it not voluntary?

Actually, I haven't smoked it in over eleven years, but I support legalization with a few caveats:

It can't be sold to minors or advertised to them, and there should be limits on how much one person or company can grow so it doesn't all wind up in the hands of Wall Street on day one (McPot).

If I saw a responsible bill or referendum that said something like that I would vote for it.

Me neither. scratching

Gavin Newsom, lieutenant governor of California and former mayor of San Francisco

"These [recreational marijuana users] are incredibly upstanding citizens: leaders in our community, and exceptional people. Increasingly, people are willing to share how they use it and not be ashamed of it. ... These laws just don't make sense anymore. It's time for politicians to come out of the closet on this." - the New York Times

Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago and former White House chief of staff

"We have police officers … arresting people for 10 grams, 11 grams, 12 grams. A huge amount of time dedicated to that. Then, they go to court. That means they're not on the street fighting gangs, fighting gun violence. ... This is a healthy discussion to have because we're making a change. I think it's a smart change because I want our police officers focused on serious violent crime." - on Chicago's decriminalization of small amounts of marijuana, the Chicago Sun-Times

Elizabeth Warren, senator (D-Mass.)

"You know, I held my father's hand while he died of cancer, and it's really painful when you do something like that up close and personal. ... And it puts me in a position of saying, if there's something a physician can prescribe that can help someone who's suffering, I'm in favor of that. Now, I want to make sure they've got the right restrictions. It should be like any other prescription drug. That there's careful control over it. But I think it's really hard to watch somebody suffer that you love." - Boston's WTKK-FM

Rick Perry, governor of Texas

"What I can do as the governor of the second-largest state in the nation is to implement policies that start us toward a decriminalization and keeps people from going to prison and destroying their lives, and that's what we've done over the last decade." - speech at World Economic Forum

Harry Reid, senator (D-Nev.)

"If you'd asked me this question a dozen years ago, it would have been easy to answer — I would have said no, because [marijuana] leads to other stuff. But I can't say that anymore. ... I think we need to take a real close look at this. I think that there's some medical reasons for marijuana. ... I guarantee you one thing. We waste a lot of time and law enforcement going after these guys that are smoking marijuana." - Las Vegas Sun

I do not smoke weed, but I do not care what recreational or medicinal drugs other idiots take as long as they don't cause trouble or bother me. Everyone is entitled to be a useless fuck up if they want to be.

I don't, but do. As long as alcohol is legal and opioid addiction is still a problem, the weed should be legal.

Me, OP. I don't smoke Weed whatsoever, but I think and feel it should be legalized regardless. It shouldn't of been illegalized from the get-go. All in favor of the Deforestation Industry too...

Exactly this!! Everyone should have the choice and right to be as lazy as they want to be up to being as hard working of an individual as they want to be. As so long as you're not trying to destroy me for me being me you and I aren't going to have any or many issues with each other. Easy peasy.

Re: Name one person who doesn't smoke weed, but thinks it should be legalized
There's me, too.

Don't smoke but have a couple family members in legal pot states with cancer. One is using it therapeutically, but doesn't like the mental side effects from the drug. Also know a couple other people using it for cancer, others for recreation. We live near a legal state, so hear a bunch.

Don't think it should be illegal at all, nor tobacco, nor alcohol. Adults should be free. Like the 19th century, or 18th. The fascist "must control" urges burn out, and seem to be on the wane again. At least in the west.

Some states, like New York, seem totally nuts about controlling people like so many pet dogs.

Me.

Its a fucking plant. I give 2 shits if people smoke it.
 Quoting: Chip

Roughly 93% of plants are poisonous. Virtually all plants have parts that are poisonous, or are poisonous at a certain point in their life cycle.

Several lethal plants taste good, the yew seed perhaps the best tasting of all. It will stop your heart. Poison hemlock root is reported to be very delicious. It can also kill you in 15 minutes.

74% of the 150 most commonly used medications come from plants.

I have no strong opinion one way or the other about legalizing MJ.

But acting like it is no big deal "because it's a plant," isn't a reasonable opinion.

Those that SHOULD support it ? The drug economy folks....drug runners, the police, the private prison industry, the politicians who are bribed with drug money, and the banksters who launder the billions. etc. I see it as being just like alcohol prohibition.

The social problems...we have them anyway..and people who want to smoke will do it anyway.

What we need is individual responsibility....such as ...People with kids who are drinkers, don't have juice boxes filled with booze in the fridge, potheads...don't leave your fing brownies around.

I´ve tried 2 times in my life and would never ever try again.

Final result was not what I´ve expecting, but...for those using "grass" and claiming help them in cancer treatment I would strongly support!

Smoked it when I was younger but not much. Haven't smoked any in over 30 years. I think it should be legal.

Most people have forgotten about how much it was used as medicine in the early days. The US made it illegal and thousands of doctors quit. There's a good video on YT about it. I'll will try to find it and post. Research it. Then the US/FDA gave us 1 poison after another. I'm anti pharma.

I don't use it and I believe it should be legal. Pot should be something that the private sector takes care of.

Example you smoke weed it's hard to find a good job.

Another example you smoke weed and you run into someone's car you get a lawsuit.

Also I don't partake in prostitutes but I think it should be legalized. In my opinion the law should only step in when one party has been wronged.

Some of us actually believe in freedom especially freedom between individuals.

I believe all drugs should be legalized, prostitution legalized, attempted suicide, etc.

But I don't do any of those things.
