**OIL PULLING** - STRONGER, WHITER TEETH!!

hello everybody! My teeth are yellow and looking on the internet I read that the use of oil pulling can whiten your teeth. Is it true? I would like to start using this method with olive oil because I can not find other types of oil you suggested. How long does it take to see results using this method every day for 20 minutes. I have some fillings in a molar. Is it dangerous for them using oil pulling? Hoping for a reply, greetings from Italy.

tnx for the link. I wanna try this metod but i'm scared that my composite fillings or my crown could have problems with OP. Someone here is in my same condition and could tell me his experience ?.

I'm in the same boat, doing oil pulling for the whitening. I did a short regimen of sunflower oil awhile back to no avail. I'm trying it again but this time I'd doing it for longer and using sesame oil instead. So far it's day 3, and no results yet to speak of. I'm cautiously optimistic and will report back on the progress. I've also stopped drinking coffee which I figure was staining my teeth fairly badly. Youtube "wealth oil pulling" and you will find the reason why I am trying sesame oil this time.

I tried it for a month and it didn't do anything.

The peppermint oil suggestion really helps with the taste and also leaves breath fresher after.

I've been doing this regularly for several years, with sunflower oil, it has definitely tightened up my gums, my teeth feel more firm in their sockets, I even felt like my bite was better, like my teeth straightened themselves a little.

Teeth are whiter and call me crazy but I thought it made my face prettier, maybe because of muscular exercise working the oil around.

You really have to do this for a pretty long time each time. You can kind of tell when you hit the point where you "did it" and can stop. I don't always do it long enough.

It's keeping me out of the dentist's office and this is a good thing because I can't afford the dentist right now.

I am sure I heard of this first at GLP, another thing to be grateful for from this forum.

Q: Can we add oil of oregano or other essential oils to the oil used in oilpulling?

Pl. don't add any oil to the the oil you have selected for oilpulling. For ex: if you choose sunflower oil, just use that oil. It is our modern day life style that we want to add flavor to every thing in life. Unfortunately, by doing so often times we are messing with the natural qualities.

Hello, I was going to try this...ordered some extra virgin, organic coconut oil from amazon.


Is the coconut oil supposed to be hard? I attempted to scoop some out of jar, but it was like scraping wax off the side of a candle...

Put the coconut oil somewhere warm, or in a warm bowl of water. It will then turn liquid.

I haven't tried Coconut oil for oil pulling, I really just researching this, but it makes a great skin cream.

i just started oil pulling a week ago when my wisdom tooth sorta started bothering me. a few days after i first noticed it, i actually had to go to the dentist as my mouth got all swollen on the one side with some intense pain. they put me on antibiotics, saying i had an infection in my jaw bone. sent me to a specialist who now wants to pull all my wisdom teeth (still have all 4 at age 28) for a price i can't afford.

however, i can afford sesame oil. so i'm using it, while finishing the antibiotics, and have already noticed benefits. my tongue is pink again, as opposed to the thick white coating usually covering it, my gums are tighter, and i'm pretty sure the purple under my eyes has faded too.

hopefully i'll remember to update this in a few weeks...

Answer to Anonymous Coward. I have 12 mercury fillings (my mother took Tetracycline when she was pregnant with me). Ted from Earthclinic is an expert on OP and he has fillings. OP his way. I'd tried the 'old school' way at first and got very sick.

i dont know about anyone else but i have kids to deal with first thing in the morning. breakfasts and lunches to make. CONVERSATIONS to have and whatnot

so, with all that said, could i get my 2 hour morning routine out of the way, and THEN do the swish?

i intend to use coconut oil, coz its got so many other uses and benefits too

assuming i would not be swishing as soon as i get up, what would you experts suggest i do? how long should i wait after drinking or eating? any other do's and dont's?

Slightly off the topic: I add coconut oil to my toothpaste on my toothbrush....Wow, my teethe come out soooooo shiny!!!! Sometimes I clean them normally and then add the coconut oil as a last brush before rinsing...great result either way.

I started OP a week ago doing it in the morning. I want to increase it to twice daily.

yes it turns hard as the air cools.
it melts again on warm days.
that is quite normal.
it will literally melt in UR mouth.

i sure hope someone answered that person who asked if CANOLA is okay to use...if not, the answer is NO!

dont eat, buy or even LOOK at canola.
its so bad and is NOT helathy whatsoever.


im using coconut oil and this oil is perfectly suited for ANY ORIFICE of the body and all ares of our skin...it can even be eaten.inside and out.even direcly on the EYEBALL.

if U think about it, we should be SWIMMING in this stuff!

me again...i keep a jar of coconut oil beside my bed.
use it for my hands and face mostly...all skin problems i can find and it has worked beautifully in every instance.

For everyone talking about coconut oil being solid. I was just as surprised when I first got it. You sort of assume it will be a liquid. If you just heat it up till its liquid then it can be used for oil pulling. Make sure you wait for it to cool down first though.

Just found this thread. Can't believe I have never heard of this. Going to try it and report back.

just place the jar in hot water- it will melt naturally.
