Less than 50%...DWR = MAIN SPILLWAY GATE CLOSURE

DWR will begin ramping down outflows from the main spillway at 9am on Friday May 19th, with outflows expected to stop by Friday afternoon. The gates at the main spillway are closing to accommodate the construction work on the main spillway.

"We are making gradual changes to the outflows and river levels and will continue to adjust as we balance community concerns, regulatory requirements and Mother Nature" said acting director Bill Croyle.

DWR intends to keep the gates of the main spillway closed for the rest of the season.

DWR plans to reduce outflows from the main spillway to zero on May 19th at 9:30am. Real time monitoring of erosion conditions may require a faster gate closure.

Well I do recall a kind of cryptic statement a good while back wherein he seemed to obliquely let the coat out of the ole bag. He seemed to be intimating that they had every intention of utilizing the 'emergency' "spielway" for as long as necessary. Something to that effect - and now, though he's not coming right out and reiterating the same, it's clearly implied by their stated actions (and playing grama nature byear)

Can anyone see the spillway? The dam cam is now back to the lakeside / visitor center! I think we are prevented to see the current damage to the main spillway. As always, lack of transparency!

A couple of huge cranes went past my place today on the back road toward Oroville. I guess that road will be destroyed next. Lots of heavy equipment moving on it the past few days.
