Sorry about your cat. I grieve harder and longer for pets than for non-immediate family members.


I have a cat with no eyes, so he doesn't really know how to act and gets into a lot of shenanigans. I'll try and think of a story for when I'm not on my phone, but here's a picture the day after I rescued him from outside from a few years ago.

Hell no.

I am a big time Trump fan here. Always have been. Hell, I was pissed off when he declined to run back in 2012 and I let everyone here know how I felt about it.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Artemis. Having lost two kitties, I know how hard it is to say goodbye to those furry little fluffs of love :(

However, with loss comes gain and the newest kitty in my life, Kricket, has brought me no end to laughter and joy :)

Kricket is a rescue kitty. I'm not sure who rescued who, but we are both enjoying the mutual benefit of the relationship. She's named Kricket because of the way she purrs. It sounds like a chirping cricket which is cute as hell!

She is a very playful cat and loves to play chase through the house. She loves me to pieces, but she has specifically claimed my husband as her own. If he sits down - lap is immediately filled with purring cat. But it's when he goes to bed that cracks me up!

Every night when he lies down in the bed, Kricket can hardly wait for him to get all the way under the covers before she starts climbing up his side to bury her face in his armpit. LOL. I wish I was a better writer and could describe just how funny this little ritual is! Every night she does this!

I joke with him about him being the "Kitty Spa" complete with massage, heat and aroma therapy. :D

I tried to take a picture of a friends pet goat with a lite cigarette in it's mouth. Stupid goat swallowed the cigarette before I could snap the picture.

He's not really a breed so much as horribly, horribly mutated. I found him in the parking lot abandoned by his mother who was a stray. He has a massive chin, no eyes, really long whiskers, and a really long neck. He's got the best personality I've ever seen in a cat though.

We got our kittens when they were too young - had to - they would have been killed otherwise. So like all young kitties, they still liked to suckle. An adult male cat adopted them as his own, and they suckled his belly til they grew out of it.

Me and my wife went around to my mothers. Times were hard and we had a financial 'emergency'

We had brought our dog Sally along for the ride. A saluki Greyhound Lurcher cross.

We all sat down in the kitchen and we fumbled a bit with the words, trying to find the easiest wasy to tell my mother why we had made this visit out of the blue. Well, we were just sort of getting there and I think she was getting the idea that we were broke and needed some cash.

Just at that moment, Sally walked into the kitchen. Hanging around her middle off the ground was my mothers hand bag, with her wallet and cash and cards in it.

My mother said, the thing had been lying flat in the middle of her bed and she did not undertand how, or why she had done it.

The fact was, she had and we laughed like hell! I have never forgotten that, or that dog. I still miss her and think of her every day.

I fell asleep on the couch and my cat dropped about 20 of her bugs (toys) on me during my slumber

Sorry for your kitteh loss Artemis. They are family members for sure. My big goofy dog (a rescue), used to be able to open the door off the deck from the outside, which was more difficult (I thought), than to open from the inside. He'd pull the handle down, then get his paw in there and pull the door open. It took him a year to figure out how to open it from the inside. He doesn't do it anymore (Doggie Dementia, I think), or he's just used to us jumping right up to let him in.

I love him, he's such a big silly dog. My life is so much better with him in it, and I didn't even want a dog.

What a great dog! Sally was like, "Ok, so here's the problem, I've got the solution so now can we go out and play?" Ha hahaha!

Sorry for your loss. I am familiar with the feeling. I know it will come again as we have three cats now. The oldest, a rescue cat, is my best friend. As for picking one of their many antics there are too many to pick any one in particular as there are new ones every day. The joy of living with cats !

So sorry for the loss of your sweet kitty. I understand not wanting to leave that land; my kitty and one of my dogs are buried under a tree in my old home.

I had a dog and a cat when I decided to move 3,000 miles cross country, CA to FL. I got their health certificates from the vet, along with kitty downers and a cat cage, so worried about her. It was summertime so we couldn't stop driving during the day for longer than to walk the dog at rest stops.

The first day she howled and cried the whole time. So the 2nd day we didn't put her in the cage and she dug herself a nest, stayed there all day without a peep. At night she'd run into the motel and disappear, at one of them we had to pull the bed apart to find her. She refused the drugs. When we got there she was just fine, strutted like nothing happened. Worldly kitty, she was. I had her from the time she was 4 wks old till she was 18. She was my 6 lbs of love.

Two of my dogs were running about in the valley behind the house. The smaller one, a miniature collie, was chasing the big one - a GSD.

The gsd ran to the top of a drainage ditch and stopped while the little one caught up. Little one comes charging up the slope to the top and the GSD just stepped back, letting the collie go straight over the edge into the ditch (it's only about a foot deep). And - this is the best part - I swear to you the gsd laughed when it happened. His lips came up and I think he was channeling Muttley.

True story.

One day may catfriend cooked some good broccoli soup for me.

MMO night got cancelled, thanks to my fat ass furry "friend"

My insane cat is always attacking me. I love him dearly, but he hates me, for what reason I don't know..

He actually threw up on my keyboard because I wasn't paying him enough attention.

When I sit at the dinner table, he claws me through the back of the chair.

When he's bored, he eats about a pound of cat food, then throws it up, then eats it quite lovingly with his sister.

He attacks people randomly as they walk through the house. One minute you're fine, next minute, Jap Attack!

If I sleep late, he jumps on my head and digs his claws into my scalp. That's my favorite.

Topping it off, I'm allergic. Fucking cat. I love him to death.

My neighbor has a bird dog that has watched my chickens sit on the chain link fence so long he does it too. This dog is about 40 lbs but will jump up on the fence when the chickens are up there and just sit or roost for minutes on end. It's funny looking so see a black and white dog sitting atop a fence with a bunch of chickens.

my oldest, Java, is fifteen now. I adopted him when he was 8 weeks and we started our life together in a small, 2 bedroom apt. One time, I came home from work to find cotton strewn all over the apartment. I looked every where and could not any find cotton the cat could have gotten in! This went for about a week and i could not find the dam cotton java was getting into!

Saturday rolls around and i start my weekly cleaning. When i got around to cleaning the bathroom, i opened the bottom of the vanity and to my surprise, Java was inside the vanity, along with a bag of cotton balls!

i never dreamed that little thing could open the vanity door, LOL and the look on his face when i caught him in the vanity, priceless!

My golden retriever farts then runs and hides under the dining room table in fear of his own a$&.

One cat I have right now will somehow pry open my underwear drawer while I am at work and he will rake out All my bra's, socks, and underwear into the floor. He knows he is being bad lol.

Another cat I had about 15 yrs ago drug a rabbit almost as big as him in through the cat door it was still alive!

I used to have an Australian Shepherd and he absolutely LOVED unwrapping Christmas presents.

One year we had wrapped his and our other two dogs presents and thought we had them safely tucked away in an empty bedroom.

So, we are sitting there the night before Christmas and who comes walking into the living room with 2 of the presents in his mouth (still wrapped)....my Aussie!

The funniest thing was the immediate look on his face when he realized he was BUSTED! Immediate guilt and a pitiful "I'm sorry" look came over him....of course, we let him keep them!

how could we not....

^^^this same cat has learned to go pee pee in the toilet all by himself he is very smart.

My female pug Bonnie was ready to deliver her first litter of pups. Her "husband," Clyde (also a pug,) had to wait it out on the backyard patio. He knew something was up and started howling for her. They can't stand to be separated for any length of time. Checking on Clyde, while my husband was attending to Bonnie, lo and behold, Clyde had big allegator tears running down his face while wimpering! It was truly a sweet sight to behold.

It ate my wife dinner and then licked its butt to try and get the taste out.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I had an Australian Sheppard that was fat like a sausage with legs. I got her from the pound that way.

Took her to Venezuela when I moved there some years back.

She loved to chase the pelicans.

One day, against my strongest warnings, she chased one over the side of an embankment next to a river. She rolled like a 55 gallon drum all the way down, picking up cactus all the way.

She took it like a champ. I went down and rescued her, then spent an hour cleaning her up.

Only then did I realize that not only are there large thorns on some cacti, but THOUSANDS of hair like tiny ones too.

We both spent the next 3 days moaning and recovering.

Ahhhh... good times.

Still think about and miss my Sadie.
