"I, even I, have said in my heart with regard to the sons of mankind that the [true] God is going to select them, that they may see that they themselves are beasts. 19 For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20 All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust. 21 Who is there knowing the spirit of the sons of mankind, whether it is ascending upward; and the spirit of the beast, whether it is descending downward to the earth? 22 And I have seen that there is nothing better than that the man should rejoice in his works, for that is his portion; because who will bring him in to look on what is going to be after him?" Ecc3;14 Actually, the answer to this is relative to the eye of the observer--just as it is in nature. There is ONE who KNOWS the spirit of mankind, whether it is ascending upward, and that is the Omnipresent Father. From OUR point of view, they are in the dirt awaiting the resurrection. From the point of view of the Omnipresent Father, he is not limited to OUR contiguous view of time. For all we know (and we can only surmise because of our limitations), our Father is ALREADY enjoying His Saints NOW (the eternal now). There is even the possibility (when we consider the nature of God) that this was COMPLETE in the very act of Creation, as was everything else in nature. Nature and Revelation, ALIKE, testify of the attributes of God--even His EVERLASTING POWER AND DIVINITY. This is a profound statement. We can KNOW His Power and Divinity. In this KNOWING, we can make conclusions and take stands on the reality of it all. This is not just gnosis. This is practical reality that opens up doors unforeseen. While we may not be able to positively say that Noah, Moses and Abraham are playing harps in Heaven, there is a strong possibility that they were among those who were resurrected when Christ was. Moses and Elijah were, of course, present in the Transfiguration of Christ. Were they already in Heaven at that point? It would certainly seem so, but for the same reasons as before, they may have appeared in their FUTURE state. We can't know for CERTAIN, but it certainly opens up a whole new view of how we can perceive our Father. The TRUTH is stranger than FICTION. |
