At what speed did it leave the bat? You don't provide enough information. Its a poorly phrased question by someone with little grasp on basic physics. You cannot estimate speed from exit angle and distance traveled. You would have to know how quickky it arrived. There is also the complication of drag, which I am guessing you aren't considering. And for those of you who are saying that the ball leaves at zero, you are even dumber than OP. The ball remains in contact with the bat for some fraction of a second during which time the bat exerts a force on the ball causing it to accelerate quickly. Once the ball is no longer touching the bat, it starts to slow down... not speed up. Common people... this is not rocket science. |

I thought OP meant it was hit at 30 degrees to the left or right, but at the same height. But I think Op meant 30 degree vertically, so it travelled in an arc. |
