There are very good blind association you can go to with your friend, they are usually very helpful to learn to cope with blindness and make friends. I have been several times with my family member who has this disease. |

I have to wear black or she cant see. She can read very large print and see sign language if the person is very close. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73826810 I see. Well I have connections in this department so the fact you posted was a sign in itself. I'm very familiar with the eye disease. I've been where she is. I want to help her. I can hook her up with groups in almost all the states and even the U.K. I'm here to help. |

I am speaking as someone who grew up watching this happen to a VERY close relative. She went through morning period and is a very happy person now and many people meet her and don't realize she is even blind as she does a lot and doesn't let it get in her way. It's good you want to be supportive, but better to help her get help to move forward in life than to look for magical cures, trust me there are none with this disease. The cones and rods deteriorate and become destroyed you can't magically fix it with cannabis or vitamins. |

NotStarvingActress User ID: 74700299 United States 05/20/2017 12:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, Wealthy casino owner Mr. Steve Wynn has the same inherited disease. If you can contact his assistant at Wynn Casino stating the reason for your call you may be able to find a source for the latest developments. My former, strictly platonic roommate essentially committed suicide as he could not cope with the increasing loss of his independence due to the disease destroying his eyesight. |
