Mr Dubke tendered his resignation on 18 May and is leaving on good terms, according to Axios News, a politics website which first reported his exit. White House adviser Kellyanne Conway said Mr Dubke had agreed to stay on until Mr Trump returned from his overseas trip to the Middle East and Europe on Saturday.

"He has expressed his desire to leave the White House and made very clear that he would see through the president's international trip," she told Fox News.

If he was, then all the talk about leakers being found in Trump's administration may have included him.

Some Never Trumpers were okay if they are truly conservative. But I've noticed plenty of them are RINOs in their politics and feelings. They're more liberal than they let on or want to admit to. People like John McCain or Lindsay Graham.

Even Donald Trump himself - not helped by his daughter Ivanka being a lib and also influencing him (and parents and their children often do) - has shown signs of some liberalism on his own part.

Not being more clear about people's politics is one reason why Trump and other top people in his administration did not screen certain employees as carefully as they should.
