Last week my husband and three buddies went to the border to go Moose hunting in Canada. He has gone for ten years. This year he was turned back. In previous years they told them that any offenses over ten years old did not count. Some years some of the guys couldn't get in. A past DUI in Canada is a felony, but not in the US. It turned up every year and he was accepted. This year - even though his DUI was 21 years ago and he has hunted for ten years up there - he was turned around. I read on another forum that the US border patrol is treating Canadians sooo bad that this is retaliation. The US border patrol is treating Canadians and others who try to enter all as criminals. The Canadians have no way to oppose them other than to return the treatment. I must say that the agent in this case was a "Newbie" young guy and outside he was told that it is completely at the discretion of the officer and they were sorry!

Their job is not easy by the way, the pollution etc...
one of the us border agent told me "lucky you" when I said I was unemployed...I don't find it funny but then she must have seen 20 or more cars before me.
