i have to say that at first i thought it was genuine but now after seeing buddy's picture on that movie website it sure looks like he would have to be a twin to 'scott'. But on the other hand, it did look real..at least the attack part anyway. i freeze-framed it and the arch on his body when it hits him makes me wonder because it is an unnatural posture and it would be hard to act that out and then add the alien after. then again...we live in an age of photoshop and CGI. i guess in the end i am not sure. That alien sure looked like a lizard though. i called the number at the end just to see, no answer, just rang and rang. i guess if i had to say one way or the other...i vote real. I believe in reptoids though, so this isn't much of a leap.

It's fake. The "ship" and the creature are both way too shiny, and have an odd sort of diffusion that the other footage lacks.

fake. Saw it a while ago. The guy in it is a cgi artist and he did it as part of his portfolio. It's a promotional piece.

The crash, the smoke and the creature looked fake but look how buddy moved when the thing jumped on him. The way he moved looked like something really jumped on him. I dunno, when i look at videos i look at the little things that fake videos usually always forget to do, which gives them away as fake, but seeing that makes me think this has a possibility of being real...

Whenever i hear an "Only the camera was left" story i think back to the Blair Witch project, how everyone i knew believed it was true, and the hours i spent arguing with them.

None of the picture links work anymore in the OP, so i can't examine them, but this sounds too hollywood to be trusted.

OP, get your story straight. Are they hikers or are they hitchhikers? Because you said they were hikers, then you called them hitchhikers, and then you called them hikers again (all on page 1). Which is it? Or were they hikers hitchhiking? There is a difference between hiking and hitchhiking ya know... One involves walking (typically through the wilderness) and the other involves sticking you thumb out to catch a ride (typically along roadways).

I think this is fake for two reasons:

1. There is very little in the video other than the encounter with the alien. If it were a valentine's day hiking trip, I think there would be much more content about the trip, especially concerning the sights.

2. The high pitched whining noise just before the alien jumped on Scott. A typical film industry tactic to grab your attention before the action.

That was lame fake. The smoke in the beginning did not conform whatsoever to the law of physics. Graphics were not to bad though.

With the ability to traverse space and time I don't think a smash landing "asteroid" shuttle would be required. How would the alien get back? lol.
