Cleaning Dental Plaque without going to the Dentist??
Anyone have any alternative methods to going to the dentist for a teeth cleaning?

For about a year I've been brushing with Dr. Bronner's soap and occasionally with baking soda. I've also been doing oil pulling a few days a week for the past couple of months.

Overall my teeth are definitely whiter but I still see some brownish plaque around the root of the gumline in some teeth.

Is a waterpik designed to clean that stuff off?

These are my notes to self on Dental Care:
1. Atomidine - toothache - topical - contained in IPSAB herbal ointment - Edgar Cayce
2. Castor oil pack - draws out inflamation if gum swollen - Edgar Cayce
3. Vitamin D - cuts cavities by one-half
4. IP6 - topical
5. Butter from grass fed cows - Price factor or Activator X factor - stimulates natural tooth enamel regeneration -
KerryGold brand butter - Dr. Weston Price - same as vitamin K2?
6. IPSAB tooth powder - salt kills streptococas bacteria; - Edgar Cayce
prickly ash known as Indian toothache powder
7. Reuteri bacteria - kills bad bacteria
8. MSM toothpaste
9. Tea tree oil toothpaste
10. No toothpaste containing either flouride or sodium lauryl sulfate
11. Oil pulling - not for people with silver fillings

Great list, but for #5, so does ionic trace minerals a lot better.

Yes, why not? I have a few silver fillings left, all others are amalgam. Thanks for the informative reply. Elaborate on the grass-fed butter - I pretty much avoid butter because I feel it coming out my pores - how much are you eating?

In answer to questions on list.

I have read that oil pulling can cause fillings to loosen and fall out. I do not know why.

Dr. Weston Price was a dentist who did a large scale study at an orphanage, and found that the X factor (vitamin K-2?) prevents cavities. Butter from grass fed cows is a rich source of this X factor. [link to www.mothering.com]

OP, an amalgam filling is also commonly referred to as a silver filling. Same thing.

If you don't clean your teeth you'll be sent to Tartar-us, which is basically hell.

Here's the Earth Clinic page for Gum Disease:

[link to earthclinic.com]

Lots of good suggestions there.

You are already doing the Oil Pulling which is the best suggestion I have. It seems to make a huge difference for me in how plaque and tartar build up and in the state of my gums. Maybe step it up. Also read the Earth Clinic page for Oil Pulling, it might be linked to on the Gum Disease page above or else do a search on it. I never heard it was a problem to do the OP when you have amalgam fillings. I'm sure it's better to do it than to not do it.

Re: Cleaning Dental Plaque without going to the Dentist??
There are numerous posts on oil pulling and fillings on curezone.com

It seems as though some people are concerned about leaching mercury out of the fillings. Others consider the risk to be minimal, and do pull.

Incidentally, supplementing with the mineral selenium has many health benefits (heart disease and cancer), including providing some protection against mercury.

I clean my tongue after I brush. I heard somewhere that you will not get plaque build up if you cleanse you tongue.
You can by a cleaner at a health store.

It seems to work because a ton of stuff comes off everytime I use it twice daily

The brand I use is called Liqumins, and it's the low sodium ionic trace minerals. You can order it on-line at any vitamin supplier, and most good health food stores have it. Don't even bother looking in GNC, it ain't there. Really cheap too, I get it online for about $14 and 8 oz. of it lasts for months because you only need a few drops per glass of water.

Add a tsp of myrrh powder to 2 ounces of water and rinse your mouth with it for about 20 minutes ( i know i know thats a long time) but it will loosen and remove any plaque on your teeth and also get rid of harmful bacteria..do this once a week for a month..then once a month after that. IT REALLY WORKS!

If you dont enjoy flossing (I hate it) use a water pik. I got one at Walmart for 60 bucks. It sprays a high power of water into areas under the gum.

I use it and you can tell the difference. You can smell all the bad stuff coming out while your cleaning your teeth with it. Kinda gross but great and really shows you what your toothbrush isnt getting into cleaning.

Great list! MSM toothpaste? I'll have to google it. I've been using Jason's Powersmile but it's got that sticky glue-stuff,(forgot the name of it) that I read is not good for the enamel growing.

Do you mean put the baking soda and peroxide in your Water Pik, or brush with it them use the Water Pik with plain water?

I'm thinking the baking soda might clog the WP.

Re: Cleaning Dental Plaque without going to the Dentist??
does this really work?

The last time I went to the dentist, she strapped on a BP monitor on my wrist. Why the hell does a dentist need to know my blood pressure! I just want my teeth cleaned?!

I oil pull every day, but still have occasional plaque.

Will brushing with baking soda and peroxide get rid of it?

for some REASON...when doing the oil pulling
amalgaram/spelling_sorry ! the old type silver/mercury types
get loosened and fall out
and I CAN AFFIRM THIS as it did happen HERE--
so those fillings were replaced with the $$$$$$white 1s.
and NO I;M NOT GETTING INTO ALL THE BULLSHIT ON MERCURY FILLINGS
as the SAME AS SECOND HAND SMOKE.....there'd BE MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS DEAD !
including THE DENTISTS AND TECHS handling IT.

try it and find out what happens with THE MODEL you have
as in here we put baking soda/peroxide
sea salt
and just always rinse once or twice the tubing out with plain warm water on the highest setting--
haven't had any problems.

If you want your whitest teeth all you do is peel a banana from the side the monkeys do. Then rub the white part of the banana on all your teeth on both sides, do for 5 mins, repeat 1x a day. U will be amazed!

Mercury doesn't kill people instantly, it degenerates health over time, the point is you die sooner then you should and your health is not as good as it could be. Same with eating processed foods, foods with MSG and other excitotoxins and Sugar.

I haven't tried this woman's product yet but from what she's saying, she seems to have come up with natural dental powder product that actually keeps dental plaque from forming.

If true, this is certainly groundbreaking.

She starts talking about it at about 49 min:
