I don't believe that John McCain has MY best interests in mind. Or my Family. Or My community.

I believe Obama is committed to making life better for americans. Tax Cuts, Abortion rights, Gay Rights, Educational reform, Health Care, Social Security.

It would be pointless to cite the countless articles explaining the fundemental difference in policy between these two candidates. I personally had always thought McCain was the ONLY republican Nominee. I Liked him in 2000 when i was more exposed to right-wing media and concepts, and since have changed the direction of my political view based on my place in the community and in my life.

Issues. Not people.

Yep. That's what I got from the debate. Either way, they're going to take our money and put government in charge of stuff. Obama talked more about the benefits to regular middle class americans while McCain pretty much said "don't worry the government is taking care of it, that's all you need to know".

At this point, we have:

1. McCain, who has absolutely no grasp on the state of our economy, and at worst, was involved in some fashion during a former financial crisis, who supported Bush with 90% of his votes, and advocates invading Iran.

2. Obama, who openly associated with radical "domestic terrorists," attended a racially bigoted church for 20 years, won't answer questions about his identity, and advocates invading Pakistan in the near future.

So, unless someone convinces me that there's something here worth voting for, I am torn and upset, knowing that even voting third party won't stay the tide against ignorance. There's too much corruption to stop it.

I have changed my vote. No longer will I support Bob Barr for president. I will still vote libertarian on all other races. But NOW... I am voting for NWObama.

McCain's game is craps. So is Jeff Dearth's. Jeff was at the table when McCain showed up and happily made room for him. Apparently there is some kind of rule or tradition in craps that everyone's hands are supposed to be above the table when the dice are about to be thrown. McCain--"very likely distracted by one of the many people who approached him that evening," Jeff says charitably--apparently was violating this rule. A small middle-aged woman at the table, apparently a "regular," reached out and pulled McCain's arm away. I'll let Jeff take over the story:


"McCain immediately turned to the woman and said between clenched teeth: 'DON'T TOUCH ME.' The woman started to explain...McCain interrupted her: 'DON'T TOUCH ME,' he repeated viciously. The woman again tried to explain. 'DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO?' McCain continued, his voice rising and his hands now raised in the 'bring it on' position. He was red-faced. By this time all the action at the table had stopped. I was completely shocked. McCain had totally lost it, and in the space of about ten seconds. 'Sir, you must be courteous to the other players at the table,' the pit boss said to McCain. "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? ASK ANYBODY AROUND HERE WHO I AM."

This being Puerto Rico, the pit boss might not have known McCain. But the senator continued in full fury--"DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"--and crisis was avoided only when Jeff offered to change places and stand between McCain and the woman who had touched his arm.

I'm not voting for either one.

There is so much contrariness in McCain's campaign. Picking an extremist VP who believes hunting wildlife from the air is ok to appeal to gun owners; that witch doctors and war are God's everlasting WISH; that seceding from the Union is "patriotic"; etc. ....shows McCain's LACK OF GOOD JUDGEMENT.

Also, if he wants less government, then why would he even consider amnesty for illegal immigrants or laws that take away women's right to choose?

It appears that his "less government" stance simply means he doesn't want government interfering with BIG CORPORATIONS raping of America. He wants to tax health insurance benefits so that anyone who does provide insurance for their employees must also GIVE THE GOVERNMENT A PIECE OF THAT ALSO!

McCain is too hypocritical on so many fronts. We CAN read between the lines here. We are not all imbeciles.

I feel that we, the American people, are the loosers in yesterday's debate. Neither candidate would admit that their "plans" that they developed over a year ago, will not apply in today's financial crisis. I just wanted one of them to stand up and say, you know my original plan is pretty much out the window. More than likely there will be no tax cuts, because we can't afford them, there will likely be no government funded health care by tax rebates or mandates or otherewise, because we can't afford it either. I'll just do my best to not increase taxes and try to decrease government spending.
Instead we heard the same lines we've heard on both campain trails for over a year now "my plan's the best because it has this or that"
There has to be a point where you quit throwing money in the wind. The tax rebates this last year did nothing for the economy, so lets just throw more money at the problem.

It doesn't matter who we vote for it won't change anything, but I guess McCain gets my vote.

I did hear McCain constantly say "I've got the solution, and I know how to get America back on track."

But I never heard him say HOW.

During the last debate, I felt the sense of "entitlement" I originally detected in McCain move over to Obama.

Obama appeared to view the debate as a waste of time and a formality before he becomes president.

Plus, he's dodging questions about his past ideology, which could be a serious matter if his current ideology still holds empahty for his "prior" leanings.

This is certainly an interesting approach and reason.
