There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

Me too... you can hear voices when in the transition between consciousness and unconsciousness i think. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 222101I heard someone call my name. It was a female voice, gentle, yet insistant. I got up, and went to check on my mom to see if she needed me. She was fast asleep. It's not that I am consciously thinking about it though, but it will catch my attention. Do you know what I mean? __________ |

No one but my partner killed himself a couple of years before so that immediately came to mind I'm sorry. Not to pry, but do you feel guilty about that? Perhaps that would explain it in your case. |

It's ok, but yes the guilt is overwhelming at times. It still does not explain a voice saying it in my ear. |
John the Baptist (nli!) User ID: 574476 United States 12/17/2008 06:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My father passed away very suddenly in 1993 - he had retired early to stay home and take care of my mother, who was couch-bound suffering from emphysema. I, being the dutiful son, immediately returned home to care for her. She needed care because she was tethereed to an oxygen machine 24/7. I had set up a quasi-studio apartment in the back of the house, at the opposite end from the living room where Mom stayed. She had a bell that she could ring if she needed anything, but other than that I could hear nothing from that end of the house. One night...I was fast alseep when I distinctly heard my father saying "John! John! Wake up, your mother needs you!" I woke up and rushed to the living room, where (for the first and only time in 8 years) her oxygen machine had malfunctioned and turned off. She didn't even wake up, she was slowly suffocating in her sleep with the mask around her face. I was able to get the mask off of her and get her machine reset in time to get her oxygen flowing again. Sadly, it only postponed the inevitable, as she died a few weeks later. I have never had an experience like that before or since, and I have no doubt that Dad reached back from beyond the grave to wake me up when my mother needed help. |

Earth Daughter User ID: 573337 United States 12/17/2008 06:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After my mom died I heard her call my name and her face popped into my dream. I woke up startled. But I hear that it sometimes happens when you are grieving. The deceased pop in to let you know that they are o.k. and not to be sad so much. That would definately make someone a believer in an afterlife! When my mom was alive, she had a dream visit from her deceased father. He told her that her mom was about to die. It wasn't anything anyone could prevent, though. And sure enough, she died from cancer within a week. Babe in a Bunker User ID: 551839 United States 12/17/2008 07:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Pretty normal. Sometimes I can hear talking. Even though there is complete silence. Usually just before waking up or falling asleep. Happens sometimes. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 480844Same here. What is this? Me,too. Sometimes, it will happen in the middle of the day and I'll even call out to see if someone is there. WTF? Well it seems so real I can see it And it seems so real I can feel it And it seems so real I can taste it And it seems so real I can hear it So why can't I touch it? So why can't I touch it?
