They are both real to a degree. You just can't be continually pumped full of information from a church. You need to read the bible and meditate.

It's hard for many people because everything they hold dear is at stake so their hearts aren't open. There are good churchgoers as well as bad, same for any type of religion.

There is something strange about the OT and NT in terms of one side is hateful while the other is love.

The deal is to compare these stories with other stories throughout time.

I personally don't believe that a universal God would only bestow love and compassion upon one group of people. This is why the other cultures stories have to be taken into account.

Jesus did come here to teach us how to love, but that's about the extent of it. The bible doesn't even contain what Jesus talked about. Most people think that only those words are the ones they are supposed to adhere to. If you really read the bible you are left asking, "what was the message"? They never told the message. They just tailored it to being baptized and then carrying on being a martyr.

But the text itself is self-contradictory in many instances, its hard to talk about "the truth, the light, and the way" when basic facts differ in various gospels. However, most (believers) are too emotionally attached to examine the primary source of their belief system, and that is fine by me so long as they are good people and aren't on some crusade against everything else (which is often the case in my experience).

What difference does it make if there was a man that 'Christ' was modeled after. There was Buddha, Brahma, Zarathustra, and others. If the Romans hadn't picked Judea as the setting for their man-god, we'd be saying we were saved by the blood of Krishna or Prometheus or someone else, and it would be equally as false. It's the belief that a man died for our sins that is the great error, not the belief that a great holy man once lived who showed us a better way of life.

And the New Testament is pretty much a construction of early Christians with differing ideas and then of course it was edited to make it a bit more consistent. Perhaps built on an oral tradition of stories and a list of Jesus' sayings that was circulating at the time. The Gospel of Thomas, a gospel that is contained in the Nag Hammadi Library is perhaps the only piece left of Jesus true teachings.

Christianity has survived thousands of years of blabbering fools like you ranting about philosophy, and the reason it has survived is because there is life in Jesus Christ. a "Religion" or a mental assent to a set of values can not survive men's spiritual darkness, but Christianity is so much more than just a "Religion" and the Bible so much more than just written word. Religions are just a physiological escape mechanism for our minds to avoid the reality that when we die, we end.

There is absolutely not one iota of objective evidence of an afterlife or god as depicted by King James or any of the ancient scriptures.

The only hope god has left is that we still cannot define the universe and everything's origins. These leave a tiny chance of a creator versus some other origin.

Jesus did die for our sins -- the Bible makes that clear -- no other great figure Mohammed Buddha etc did that nor is any legitamate claim made

also Jesus rose from the dead -- the Bible makes this clear as well. He came died and rose to give us eternal life

Listen the bible isnt real. Jesus most likely did exist but as others were saying he probably had extraordinary teachings about how to love each other. Once again how could a book be written about someone but has no real information about him. Also why would he want the bible written in a way that would make it hard for some people to understand . What happends to the children across the world that have learning disabilities. Why are christians only allowed in heaven? By the way remember god is a jealous god so believing in or worshipping another god is a one way ticket to hell. So everyone else in this world that is muslim, buddhist,etc etc will go to hell. For those who know their zodiac sign and say it aloud is automatically denying the holy spirit which is also unforgivable. If i get killed today most christians will say it was my time. Jesus wants me home. So that means god let one of his children get temporarily possessed by the devil so they could kill me so i can go home (HEAVEN) while he stays on earth, his life will become a living hell. He would probably do life in prison or sit on death row. Now our government is kinda christian based, he should be able to tell the "JUDGE" lol that it was simply my time to go home . One more thing he knows what you're going to say and do before you so no matter what happends everyone technically should go to heaven.

The bible was written by many authors, mostly royal Romans and it is full of contradictions. Jesus Christ was invented in 325. But you would know that if you examined all the rejected books of the bible and how the stories changed with each edition.

The 1st & 2nd historians who were there disagree.

How does the torah contain kabbalah and yet tell a narrative at the same time? How does it reveal mathematical code when talking about geneologies?
