Aquarius 7 (OP) User ID: 696104 United States 06/11/2009 12:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For some reason the title of this thread made me think of EAT growing his own produce. If EAT's doing it, you should too! :p Quoting: Anonymous Coward 684986. . That's funny. Let's see ... what can we do with this? EAT locally grown! Produce and be healthier! . Foxx. User ID: 719817 United States 07/18/2009 06:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That sounds wonderful. Quoting: Aquarius 7The food is MUCH better when it is fresh from a nearby farm. I try eating regular veggies from the supermarket now, and a lot of it has a weird flabby texture and watery taste. And it goes bad so quickly in the refrigerator. The co-op and organic foods last longer in the refrigerator and have real texture and taste! . . I've found that to be true, too. I think the supermarket produce is picked too green; then shipped a long distance; then irradiated to "make it ripen"; then we get to eat the resulting mess. It's a wonder we're not all dead. :( . . Edgar Cayce states that Fruits and Vegetables contain a life force that is very beneficial to the body. He also says something about eating local produce that is native to the area helping your body acclimate to your surroundings, like say if you lived in New York and you fly out to California say, and maybe you are experiencing jet lag, eating native fruits and vegetables with help alleviate this condition You are the driver, you Own the Road!!Stand up and Shout I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied, Learn to Swim!! |

Renegade (Me too) User ID: 31680294 United States 02/19/2013 02:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i am part owner of my local co-op but i still question amny of their sources. :( Quoting: Anonymous Coward 686919. . Why do you question many of their sources? Are they not local? I don't have that problem with the local farmers' markets. This is a small community, and I am acquainted with the various farmers who offer their produce for sale. If I have a question about where the produce is from, I ask. It's generally grown right there on their farm ... and if not, then on a farm within 10 or 15 miles from them. I love to buy the minninites cakes. You can taste each individual ingredient: eggs, good flour, caramel, uhmmm Who is John Galt? |
