I'm gay and I hate everything about being gay

What is this lifestyle? Are you under contract to live a certain lifestyle? maybe quit being such a cliche. What's it like though? Do you like hairy butts? I don't but vaginas are kind of weird too.

I'm gay but here's the thing. I hate the whole idea of it. Morally i hate it, the lifestyle i hate it, the idea of it makes me sick and yet i still have these feelings.

I don't hate gay people at all i just hate the lifestyle and yet i'm gay myself.

Kind of makes life tough in a way i guess. I have little to no attraction to women and yet the idea of being in a relationship with a man turns my stomach. My family and friends don't care either way but for me personally i'd rather be alone my whole life than have to live the gay lifestyle.

I wonder if there are other people that feel this way. I'm a pretty open person and don't care what people think or say about me but i'm at a loss. I would love to get married and have kids someday but then there's this whole gay thing and i just would never do that with another man.

oh well i guess. thats life.

I have a nephew who is a closet gay to his family because God forbid should the grandparents know. You know what? He is an unhappy camper even though he holds a high position in politics. He isn't even a nice person. He's snooty. I have gay friends I love, even tho I am straight. This nephew is oceans away from them. So back to loving yourself and others, OP.

i'm gonna say something here: being in a relationship, whether hetero or homo, isn't ALL there is to life. Close friends and an intense interest or pursuit can take you a loooong way towards fulfillment. probably farther than most people ever go.

close friends (those who are "like family" only better because there's more respect there than most families afford) are the ultimate.

If you feel that way, don't have sex with a man or woman for that matter. If it is repugnant to you don't do it. Are you sure you are homosexual? You maybe just a person that is asexual, you don't what sex.

The "gay lifestyle" is an option only to being homosexual.

Lifestyle is something a person adopts. Life is something a person lives.

It is your life, you can adopt any lifestyle you want.

The "sin" of homosexuality is debatable, plenty of books and theologians who point at the bible and say "these verses are read wrong/ are applied wrong".

They still agree on the "sinful" nature of being "alone" in the world.

Companionship, love and commitment is not everybody's cup of tea. However sex without these things is equally as empty regardless of your sexual orientation.

Your problem may be as simple as you haven't met the man who has caught your whole heart. I assure you one day, when you least expect it the 'right' person will come along and you will want to be with them, live with them, love them with all your heart and will want to 'settle down' or enter into a committed relationship.

I have no idea how old you are, I suspect you are young, still have a lot of life to live and you will discover on your own the truths that matter most.

Well said, there is something to be said for self control. We all have different thoughts and feelings, but they all aren't good or beneficial. It's up to us to recognize what is what, and live our lives accordingly through our minds, and not just our bodies.

maybe i am asexual who knows. I often wonder why i have these feelings when everything else i feel is the exact opposite. I was never really bullied at all, my parents are very liberal, & my friends wouldn't care, and yet i battle myself with this.
