- Derek Brandon Jacobs, one of the first people in the world to bear an identification microchip, died at 18 in a Florida motorcycle accident.

- Verichip is lobbying the Pentagon to choose its RFID tags as a replacement for the famous metal dog tags for ALL USA military!

- The company has gone on record to say that the implantable GPS-tracked chip could be worth a whopping $100 billion comprising 26 potential vertical markets. That sort of revenue by any company’s standards is stupendous and would require a great part of the world’s population to be ‘chipped’ .

- Two hackers (Annalee Newitz and Jonathan Westhues ) demonstrated that the chip named RFid (Radio Frequency Identification) could be easily scanned and cloned during their intervention in the 6th Hope Conference .

- Newark’s Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, the state’s largest health insurer, is launching a two-year pilot program with Hackensack University Medical Center that will implant microchips in 280 Horizon members.

- Four hospitals in the US Caribbean territory plan to begin using the Verichip patients who have significant health problems or illnesses that cause memory loss. Free will?

- Verichip IPO will offer 4.3 million shares between $6.50 and $8.50 per share from underwriters Merriman Curhan Ford, C.E. Unterberg Towbin, and Kaufman Bros.

- The company's chief scientist, Dr. Peter Zhou, who has gone onto record to say "Before there may have been resistance, but not anymore. People are getting used to implants. New century, new trend."

- American Medical Association’s (AMA) Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs has adopted a policy stating that implantable radio frequency identification (RFID) devices may help to identify patients, thereby improving the safety and efficiency of patient care, and may be used to enable secure access to patient clinical information BUT "These devices may present physical risks to the patient," the report said. "Though they are removable, their small size allows them to migrate under the skin, making them potentially difficult to extract." [Verichip cherry picked the press release maintaining it's leadership in deceiving the public. ]

-New Jersey has actually passed legislation that will require "smart gun" technology on all handguns sold, which would be three years after the state attorney general certifies that "smart guns" are available on the market.

-"In principle, a device of this type should never be forced on anybody," Scott Silverman has gone on record to say. Please view the Operation Lie and Deceive Verichip Style video before you accept shape shifting Scott's word as gospel.

- Lawmakers in Indonesia's remote province of Papua have thrown their support behind a controversial bill requiring some HIV/AIDS patients to be implanted with microchips

-Upon successful completion of the in vivo glucose-sensing RFID development program, this self-contained, implantable bio-sensing device will, for the first time, have the ability to measure glucose levels in the human body through an external scanner, thereby eliminating the need for diabetics to prick their fingers multiple times per day.

-The glucose sensor is a promising example, combining a unique application of the technology and an extremely valuable market. While there is much more to do, development of the binding environment was a big step towards reaching that future."

-VeriChip Corporation announced that its personal health record used in conjunction with its VeriMed Health Link system will be accessible through Microsoft(R) HealthVault(TM), an online platform designed to put consumers in control of their health information.

-VeriChip Corp has been notified by NASDAQ that it is not in compliance with the listing requirements . NASDAQ said that for the past 30 consecutive business days prior to Oct. 16, its stock bid price closed below the minimum $1-a-share price requirement for continued listing.

-In addition, the stock has not maintained a minimum market value of $5 million as required.

-September — shortly after the first 90 or so Alzheimer's patients received its chips in Florida , Verichip came under fire when cancer was linked to embedded RFID chips

• A Dutch prototype for an RFID embedded in a passport was hacked in two hours by a local TV station. Hackers could access fingerprint, photograph, and other data on the RFID tag, perfect for creating a cloned passport.

Successful hacks of the Exxon Mobile key fob, the VeriChip human RFID implant, the California State Capitol building access system, and the new RFID passports show how easy it is to skim and clone poorly protected RFID devices and compromise RFID-dependent security systems.

• India, with the Health Hiway initiative of Apollo Hospitals and IBM, which connects 250 users across 75 providers. The goal is a centralised database of patient records across the country.

State banning microchipping Wisconsin and North Dakota California Missouri

-To date, about 100 patients and caregivers with Alzheimer's Community Care have undergone successful RFID implants with another 100 expected to be implanted by February 2009.

UK Ministry of Justice is exploring the possibility of injecting prisoners in the back of the arm with a radio frequency identification (RFID)

-Every single Metropolitan police officer will be 'microchipped' so top brass can monitor their movements on a Big Brother style tracking scheme, it can be revealed today.

UK Chipping According to respected industry magazine Police Review, the plan - which affects all 31,000 serving officers in the Met, including Sir Ian Blair - is set to replace the unreliable Airwave radio system currently used to help monitor officer's movements.
The new electronic tracking device - called the Automated Personal Location System (APLS) - means that officers will never be out of range of supervising officers.

The process developed by Somark involves a geometric array of micro-needles and a reusable applicator with a one-time-use ink capsule. Pydynowski said it takes five to 10 seconds to "stamp or tattoo" an animal, and there is no need to remove the fur. The ink remains in the dermal layer, and a reader can detect it from 4 feet away.

Digital Angel, the manufacturer of animal microchips, exclusively makes the Home Again microchip and is the sister company of VeriChip.

Re: I Do Not Consent
A recently declassified US Army report on the biological effects of non-lethal weapons reveals outlandish plans for "ray gun" devices, which would cause artificial fevers or beam voices into people's heads.

The report titled "Bioeffects Of Selected Nonlethal Weapons" was released under the US Freedom of Information Act and is available on this website (pdf). The DoD has confirmed to New Scientist that it released the documents, which detail five different "maturing non-lethal technologies" using microwaves, lasers and sound.

Released by US Army Intelligence and Security Command at Fort Meade, Maryland, US, the 1998 report gives an overview of what was then the state of the art in directed energy weapons for crowd control and other applications.

A word in your ear
Some of the technologies are conceptual, such as an electromagnetic pulse that causes a seizure like those experienced by people with epilepsy. Other ideas, like a microwave gun to "beam" words directly into people's ears, have been tested. It is claimed that the so-called "Frey Effect" - using close-range microwaves to produce audible sounds in a person's ears - has been used to project the spoken numbers 1 to 10 across a lab to volunteers'.

In 2004 the US Navy funded research into using the Frey effect to project sound that caused "discomfort" into the ears of crowds.

The report also discusses a microwave weapon able to produce a disabling "artificial fever" by heating a person's body. While tests of the idea are not mentioned, the report notes that the necessary equipment "is available today". It adds that while it would take at least fifteen minutes to achieve the desired "fever" effect, it could be used to incapacitate people for almost "any desired period consistent with safety."

Less exotic technologies discussed include laser dazzlers and a sound source loud enough to disturb the sense of balance. Both have been realised in the years since the report was written. The US army uses laser dazzlers in Iraq, while the Long Range Acoustic Device has military and civilian users, and has been used on one occasion to repel pirates off Somalia.

However, the report does not mention any trials of weapons for producing artificial fever or seizures, or beaming voices into people's heads.

Re: I Do Not Consent
Potentially torturous
Steve Wright, a security expert at Leeds Metropolitan University, UK, warns that the technologies described could be used for torture. In 1998 the European Parliament passed a motion banning potentially dangerous incapacitating technologies that interfere with the human brain.

"The epileptic seizure inducing device is grossly irresponsible and should never be fielded," says Steve Wright "We know from similar [chemically] artificially-induced fits that the victim subsequently remains "potentiated" and may spontaneously suffer epileptic fits again after the initial attack."

The acoustic energy device that affects the ear canals, disrupting the motion sense, may require dangerously loud sound levels to be effective, points out Juergen Altmann, a physicist at Dortmund University, Germany, who is interested in new military technologies.

"[There is] inconsistency between the part that says "interesting" effects occur at 130-155 dB and the Recovery/Safety section that says that 115 dB is to be avoided - without commenting on the difference."

Austin Powers was a real comedy and yet DARPA likes it so much...
DARPA, the Pentagon tech bureau which has conferred upon a suffering human race such boons as the internet, the stealth bomber and the night-vision goggle, has finally made a bid to achieve that which humanity has yearned for above all other things. We refer, of course, to a laser weapon sufficiently portable to be carried on the head of a shark.

The military mayhem-profs refer to their new scheme as Fibre Laser Pulse Source, or FILPS. According to a recently-released presolicitation document (Word docx format - you may need to download add-ons to read):

The FILPS program will culminate in a UAV compatible system that generates 10-mJ, sub-ns duration optical pulses at a 25-kHz repetition rate. The output pulse characteristics, including phase stability, pulse jitter, and laser beam quality, should be sufficient to enable efficient pulse energy scaling to the 100-mJ level via coherent combining.

As any fule can easily work out, that means a power output of up to 2.5 kilowatts - not a battle-strength ray able to vaporise a flying artillery shell in the blink of an eye, but still a pretty hot beam. It would only have to be held on a target for about a third of a second to deliver as much energy as a 9mm pistol bullet does.

Re: I Do Not Consent
DARPA, of course, offer a semi-plausible cover story about using the FILPS lasers on "high-altitude UAV platform". No doubt they would suggest that the idea is to use FILPS for such purposes as long-range communications or target designation from stratospheric platforms such as the hydrogen-fuelled Global Observer plane, or the planned solar-powered robot radar dirigible.

But I think we all know what's really going on here.

According to DARPA, a 1.8-gigapixel (approximate 1800-megapixel) camera exists and already functions as part of the ARGUS-IS project. And yet, the next model, which offers 2.3-gigapixel resolution, is already under way: the US Army has solicited proposals for its design and manufacturing.

Although preliminary design plans for the new camera exist, it is still quite far from becoming a reality. However, the US Army already holds high hopes for the system. For instance, engineers involved in the project are saying that the final version will be both smaller and lighter than previous systems, work in the infrared range to boot, and capture images at a rate of two frames per second.

The mission of the Autonomous Real-time Ground Ubiquitous Surveillance - Imaging System (ARGUS-IS) program is to provide military users a flexible and responsive capability to find, track and monitor events and activities of interest on a continuous basis in areas of interest. This future camera is a major part of the system.

Thanks to its 2.3-gigapixel sensor, the camera should allow the system to continuously cover a range of about 161 square kilometers. This high resolution could zoom in up to 30 centimeters – just enough to make out the outline of hand-held weapons, for instance.

The overall objective of ARGUS-IS is to increase situational awareness, and to give the ability to find and fix critical events in a large area during a short period of time. The system is specifically useful for tactical users in a dynamic battle-space or urban environment.

TFOT has covered another part of the ARGUS-IS project: the Boeing A160T Hummingbird, an unmanned, super-quiet aerial vehicle. Other related TFOT stories include the Spy Blimp, a surveillance airship developed by the US Air Force and DARPA, and the Global Hawk, the world’s first fully autonomous high-altitude, long-endurance aircraft designed for environmental science, which was sponsored by DARPA.

For more information about the ARGUS-IS project, see DARPA’s website.

Re: I Do Not Consent
SAN FRANCISCO - Scientists say they've made a breakthrough in their pursuit of computers that "think" like a living thing's brain - an effort that tests the limits of technology.

Even the world's most powerful supercomputers can't replicate basic aspects of the human mind. The machines can't imagine a wall painted a different colour, for instance, or picture a person's face and connect that to an emotion.

If researchers can make computers operate more like a brain thinks - by reasoning and dealing with abstractions, among other things - they could unleash tremendous insights in such diverse fields as medicine and economics.

A computer with the power of a human brain is not yet near.

But this week researchers from IBM are reporting that they've simulated a cat's cerebral cortex, the thinking part of the brain, using a massive supercomputer.

The computer has 147,456 processors (most modern PCs have just one or two processors) and 144 terabytes of main memory - 100,000 times as much as your computer has.

The scientists had previously simulated 40 per cent of a mouse's brain in 2006, a rat's full brain in 2007, and 1 per cent of a human's cerebral cortex this year, using progressively bigger supercomputers.

The latest feat, being presented at a supercomputing conference in Portland, Oregon, doesn't mean the computer thinks like a cat, or that it is the progenitor of a race of robo-cats.

The simulation, which runs 100 times slower than an actual cat's brain, is more about watching how thoughts are formed in the brain and how the roughly one billion neurons and 10 trillion synapses in a cat's brain work together.

The researchers created a program that told the supercomputer, which is in the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, to behave how a brain is believed to behave.

The computer was shown images of corporate logos, including IBM's, and scientists watched as different parts of the simulated brain worked together to figure out what the image was.

PRESS TV -
Scientists at IBM have demonstrated their latest innovation, a tiny chip based on silicon that could test for diseases with a small sample of a patient's blood.

The silicon chip requires a tiny drop of blood to test for various diseases, including cardiovascular disease.

A tiny drop of serum or blood is drawn through the fast, portable chip and analyzed for the presence of disease markers.

Sets of micron wide channels let the test sample flow through the chip in approximately 15 seconds, several times faster than traditional tests.

The diagnostic device uses capillary force and the tendency of a liquid to travel in narrow tubes under its own force, instead of using pumps.

The micro-fluidic chip, made of a silicon compound that measures 1 x 5cm, catches disease markers which show up under specific types of light.

"We are giving back precious minutes to doctors so they can make informed and accurate decisions right at the time they need them most to save lives," Emmanuel Delamarche, a research scientist at IBM Research in Zurich said.

Re: I Do Not Consent
Back in May 3, 2001, three inventors applied for a patent (United States Patent Application: 0020165758.) According to the description of the product, the invention was,
"A method and system for identifying and tracking persons using RFID-tagged items carried on the persons."

Previous purchase records for each person who shops at a retail store are collected by POS terminals and stored in a transaction database. When a person carrying or wearing items having RFID tags enters the store or other designated area, a RFID tag scanner located therein scans the RFID tags on that person and reads the RFID tag information. The RFID tag information collected from the person is correlated with transaction records stored in the transaction database according to known correlation
algorithms. Based on the results of the correlation, the exact identity of the person or certain characteristics about the person can be determined. This information is used to monitor the movement of the person through the store or other areas." (see [link to www.spychips.com] ) The inventors were on IBM's payroll.

IBM was chosen as project manager for the implementation of the U.S. Department of Defense RFID Mandate (2004). Within this mandate, the DoD had awarded IBM a three year contract to develop ways using passive (to be read close up when an interrogator scanned the chip) and active (read from a distance) rfid chips on pallets of hardware, parts and supplies and also using Rfid chips in an effort to track food rations to soldiers. The latter seemingly a beneficial enterprise had it not been for the applied-for tracking devices mentioned in the patent application above. With this, IBM gets it's proverbial foot-in-the-door for access to a governmental contract.

A collaborative group, the United States Army Research Laboratory (ARL) and the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense, have as of Sept. 18th, 2006 elected to take part in an experimental program which would consist of 12 different approaches to the use of Rfid chips for the military.

This group, the / International Technology Alliance (ITA), was selected from a field of five contenders. Groups involved consisted of BAE Systems, EDS,Northrop Grumman and Raytheon, The consortium is comprised of 25 entities, including IBM and Honeywell in the United States, and LogicaCMG and Roke Manor Research in the United Kingdom. Also, seven U.S. and seven U.K. academic institutions were involved in the project. These include Columbia University and UCLA in the United States, and the University of Aberdeen and Imperial Collegein the United Kingdom. According to IBM researcher Dinesh Verma, ITA's program manager the research project may span 10 years and receive up to $135.8 million in funding from the governments not to mention funding from the corporations involved as they too have a stake in any successful findings of Rfid use. This is a perfect example of Fascism...corporatism + government with secondary educational institutions that will ultimately spin the propaganda machines to the young people who will be used as cannon fodder in the mid-East . Most chilling is Verma's statement on the ulimate usage of Rfid tracking on humanity. He speaks of sensor-information processing and delivery that would focus on a number of strategic uses of tracking devices, such as how armed forces could use RFID tags linked to sensors for tracking enemy soldiers or insurgents.

IBM-Led Group to Run Major Military Research Project

The International Technology Alliance, made up of 25 commercial and academic organizations, is chartered with helping the U.S. and U.K. militaries develop sensor-based technologies.

The group was formed and is being led by IBM's research arm, in response to a bid from the governments to assemble a cross-industry group that would explore advanced technology for secure wireless and sensor networks to support future US-UK coalition military operations. This group, the / International Technology Alliance (ITA), was selected from a field of five contenders. Other groups were led by BAE Systems, EDS,Northrop Grumman and Raytheon, according to IBM researcher Dinesh Verma, ITA's program manager. The research project may span 10 years and receive up to $135.8 million in funding from the governments.

The consortium is comprised of 25 entities, including IBM and Honeywell in the United States, and LogicaCMG and Roke Manor Research in the United Kingdom, as well as seven U.S. and seven U.K. academic institutions. These include Columbia University and UCLA in the United States, and the University of Aberdeen and Imperial College in the United Kingdom. The consortium's work will focus on four main areas of study: network theory; security across a system of systems; sensor information processing and delivery; and distributed-coalition planning and decision-making.

The group is initiating 12 projects (listed here)—three each for the four major research areas—all requiring cross-industry, cross-discipline and cross-border collaboration. Verma says work in sensor-information processing and delivery will focus on a number of strategic uses of tracking devices, such as how armed forces could use RFID tags linked to sensors for tracking enemy soldiers or insurgents. Such a project would require the collaboration not only of experts in sensor-information processing and delivery, he says, but also experts in distributed-coalition planning and decision-making. ITA members with knowledge in this field would provide the background in social dynamics such a project would require, since tracking devices would need to be embedded into the clothing or equipment of enemy soldiers or insurgents without their knowledge. Experts in networking theory, meanwhile, would provide the secure IT infrastructure required to deploy such a system on a large scale.

It is really going down this way folks-best be informed and decide what your boundaries are.

Nov. 9, 2009—When the Middle Tennessee Medical Center opens its new facility next year, it will employ GuardRFID Solutions' TotGuard system, which includes 344 MHz active RFID tags and readers, to ensure the security of its newborn babies and pediatric patients.

The new $267 million, 286-bed hospital, scheduled to open in 2010, and is designed to accommodate the hospital's current delivery rate of 2,500 babies per year. For its new home, the organization wanted a security system that could enhance the existing manually checked, bar-code- and text-based wristbands that patients currently wear, says Janet McIntosh, a registered nurse and the medical center's director of maternal-infant services.

"We are hoping to be state-of-the-art in each component of this new hospital," McIntosh says, and that includes infant safety. "We don't believe it matters how wonderful an infant security system is; we still need nurses to be acutely aware of the surroundings and check wristbands," she explains. With that in mind, the hospital has selected a system that is intended to be easy for employees to use, and that provides an additional layer of security by sending alerts if a baby approaches an exit, or if someone attempts to remove the child's security band. "We wanted a system that would blend into the woodwork until you had a problem," she says.

The medical center discussed the TotGuard system with GuardRFID, and visited other hospitals where the system was already in use. Based on what they witnessed, McIntosh says, the hospital's management selected the system for the new facility. When a baby is delivered, workers will provide a TotGuard RFID tag attached to a soft fabric band that wraps around the baby's forearm or calf by means of a Velcro fastener. Information such as the infant's health record, the date and time of birth and the parents' names will be entered into the TotGuard system, residing on Middle Tennessee's server. The staff will then employ an RFID reader to capture the ID number of the tag assigned to that particular child, linking the number to the data stored in the TotGuard software.

The tag, which will transmit its unique ID number at a rate of once every 10 seconds, has two built-in sensors—one for detecting changes in light exposure, the other for discerning temperature changes. If a parent were to briefly move an infant's tag, says Zahir Abji, GuardRFID's president and CEO, the light sensor would detect that the tag had been lifted from the child's skin. However, because this type of brief, inadvertent tag movement is so common, the second sensor—which detects temperature changes—is required to transmit an alarm to the system as well. In that case, if a tag is completely removed from the infant, it will detect a drop in temperature, as well as an increase in light exposure, thus causing the alert to be issued.

* RFID is going to change the healthcare industry

By Claire Swedberg

Oct. 23, 2009—After several years of testing RFID to track patients and staff members in its operating room (OR) department, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is now rolling out the same technology in a more challenging environment in which patient movement is not nearly as predictable—at medical clinics throughout the Boston area. Provided by Radianse, the system, known as Radianse Reveal, includes active 433 MHz RFID tags in the form of badges worn by workers and patients. Thus far, three clinics are employing Radianse Reveal, with the system slated to go live at another five locations by the end of the first quarter of 2010.

"Our incentive is to gain a better understanding of how our clinical systems behave," says James Stahl, a medical doctor and senior scientist with MGH's Institute for Technology Assessment. Unlike the tracking of assets or patients through an OR, tracking patients' movements through a clinic, Stahl says, "is a very complex system in terms of how resources are managed."

In 2005, Massachusetts General set up a trial of Radianse RFID technology to track employees and patients in its OR unit. At the time, Stahl served as the research director of the trial project, known as the Operating Room of the Future (ORF). The project's goal was to determine whether RFID technology could track the movements of patients and staff members, and improve the operation room workflow based on that data. The technology is still in place in the OR, Stahl says, but has been deactivated for the time being.

Based on results of an earlier study, the BloodCenter of Wisconsin and its partners will build a prototype RFID system for blood banks and hospitals, supported by a $1.4 million government grant.

By Claire Swedberg

Nov. 4, 2009—After completing a two-year study that determined high-frequency (HF) RFID technology would be safe to use and financially beneficial for blood banks, a group headed by the BloodCenter of Wisconsin (BCW) has received $1.4 million in funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to begin building a prototype of an HF RFID solution. This solution would include software, tags, and handheld and tunnel readers that could be utilized by blood banks across the United States, as well as by hospitals that provide transfusions. The prototype development phase (slated to last two more years) will include further studies of any effect that RF transmissions might have on plasma—to follow up on a previous study of red blood cells and platelets—and complete an impact-analysis report related to the return on investment (ROI) for hospitals that might employ the system.

The first phase of the study, completed in February 2009, was undertaken by a collaboration of groups, including the University of Wisconsin (UW) RFID Lab, information services consulting firm SysLogic, Carter BloodCare, Mississippi Baptist Health System and the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics (see BloodCenter of Wisconsin to Study RFID's Effect on Blood).

Re: I Do Not Consent
ncluding handheld or desktop readers, tags and software—would cost about $744,000 to acquire and install, and would provide a savings of $827,000 over a five-year period. Such savings would be the result of fewer man-hours spent tracking the movements of blood products, as well as a reduction in wastage resulting from blood products that had expired before they could be located and used. Another benefit—though harder to quantify—is the increased safety that would be created by better ensuring patients get the correct blood products, says Lynne Briggs, BCW's director of applications and project manager.

In Phase One, the Wisconsin group tested the effects of HF 13.56 MHz RF transmissions, compliant with the ISO 15693 standard, on red blood cells and platelets. During this phase, the blood products were subjected to between 23 and 25 consecutive hours of RF exposure at 13.56 MHz and five amperes/meter (100 watts). A simulated reader—using a loop device known as a Helmholtz coil to surround a blood bag—was utilized, rather than an actual RFID interrogator, thereby enabling researchers to bombard the blood bags with RF transmissions from all angles. The group chose to test only HF, Briggs explains, because ultrahigh-frequency UHF has the potential to excite the water molecules in the blood products to such level that they would be more likely than HF to raise the temperature.

They are worried about the negative effects on the blood that is donated...but no worries sticking it in your body-see the BS it stinks like rot.

The HF ISO 15693 tags—the vendor for which has not yet been selected—will each come with a chip that has two separate sections allocated for data storage. The information stored on the tag must adhere to specifications outlined in a standard established by the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT). The standard, known as ISBT Code 128, describes a system that uses Code 128 bar coding to identify and track the processing and use of human blood, tissue and cellular therapy products.

"INTERNATIONAL" that is their global NANNY world helltopia, Orwellian style is nothing COMPARED TO WHAT THEY HAVE PLANNED

And their Terrahertz scanners have been deployed at airports already as well. The Difference between Survivalists and Chip Survivalists

When people start conversing about the inevitable progression of the globalist government, they often advocate ridiculously naïve solutions. It seems more than a few assume they will just be able to grab some camping gear, a little food a gun and head off to the country side like something out of the movie ‘Red Dawn.’ Sad to say even under normal circumstances most of these people wouldn’t last more than a few weeks at best. The first European settlers were hardy stock and their numbers were reduced drastically every year and truth be told, they knew far more about surviving then our generation does. Living off the land doesn’t have to be nearly as hard, if you do your homework now.

Many well meaning people will research survival, but generally speaking, sources they use often have different motivations and end goals which may be confusing under the coming crisis. One of the biggest differences is that, as survivalists preparing against an extreme big brother we do not want to be found.

Once that facet is taken into consideration entire philosophies of survival change. I find a lot of politically aware survivalists don’t know where to start. This paper will list in order of importance, various survival topics. These sections will give a very broad summary as to which the reader should investigate each subject more thoroughly at their own discretion.

Water

Unless it is an absolute emergency, never drink straight from a stream. No matter how pure you think it may be, chances are it is not. You can create water filtration systems with gravel and sand, but I still suggest boiling out bacteria. You should boil all water for 15 minutes and an additional 5 minutes for every 1000 feet above sea level you are at. You can purchase water purification tablets, but I only suggest using these in an emergency when water is needed ASAP. Commercial water filtration devices can be bought, but cartages must be replaced from time to time. You can also build a simple ‘solar still.’

All it requires is a clear piece of plastic, a rock, a hole in the ground and gravity. Dig the hole, put a container in the middle to collect water, place the clear plastic overtop of the hole, then place a rock in the middle of the tarp weighing the middle of the tarp down to create an inverted pyramid over the container. The sun evaporates the water creating condensation on the plastic, which runs down the center of the tarp where it is lower, gathers together and falls into the container.

Re: I Do Not Consent
With water one can use a clean cotton cloth 3-5 layers thick to clean lots of crap out-if one does not have a better option

Shelter

Shelters must be created immediately. Even when it is a nice day, often, it is cold at night, and if it rains there is a serious risk of hypothermia. For temporary shelters, I recommend a small, easy to set up two-man tent. Anything more is just a hassle and slows you down. A tarp may also do the trick.

When setting up a less temporary structure it is recommended you camp at the location several nights to make sure you’ve picked a good place. Native Americans often chose to place their shelters on the east or northeast side of a mountain. Since the jet stream causes most winds to move from the west to the east this placement used mountains to block wind. You must of course be careful you don’t place your shelter on an area prone to flash flooding. A shelter among trees, especially conifer trees is a wise idea to help block additional wind. It also keeps your shelter less noticeable from unwanted visitors. Insulation should be about a foot thick to keep heat inside effectively.

You may also want to create a deep hole as a root cellar. A pit may also be a good idea in which you can use a shovel to place large rocks that have been heated by a fire. Keeping a fire in a shelter is often a smoky mess, bad for the eyes, lungs and virtually everything else. However a large rock heated by a fire will retain and emit heat for several hours without smoke caused by a fire.

If possible you may want to think about keeping some or most of your structure underground. Flooding however may become an issue if you do not create proper drainage systems. I highly suggest building a shelter into existing land features to help conceal the shelter. You may want to throw dirt on top and allow a few plants to grow on top of it. If your shelter is at least partially underground, consider trying to run a pipe from an underground spring to your shelter. If you do this make sure it is deeper than the frost line to keep pipes from freezing and cracking. You could also use this to create a tub and reservoir with a flushing system for refuse if you are feeling creative. Shelter building, even simple shelter building is art form and I suggest further research and practice.

If you don’t know how to create a fire from sticks you need to learn, just google it. If you have time to prepare, you can waterproof matches by covering the heads with clear nail polish. You can also use lighters, but neither will last forever. I have used a magnifying glass, even in winter, but it doesn’t work on a day that is overcast. The biggest thing to remember when creating fire is that it needs air.
I like to set stuff up in a tepee shape with the driest of the dry crumbled bark and grasses I can find. Start small and slowly add on, spread the fire with your breath. The greener the wood, the smokier it is. Wood should season for a year before you use it. Pine sets on fire quick, hard woods take longer, but they also burn hotter. Dryer lint is fantastic to start fires with.

Dryer lint is also very good if you pour old oil or some grease on the lint and store up a bag of starters...

Re: I Do Not Consent
Food and Preservation

If you have no food don’t panic, the wilderness is full of things ripe for the picking if you know where to look. You can east basically any part of a Cattail. Pine needles are a great source of Vitamin C, in fact one serving contains eight times the amount of Vitamin C you can find in an orange. Dandelions can be eaten along with the spring buds many trees. You can eat Acorns, but you will probably need to boil them first to remove the bitter taste. You can eat grasshoppers, earthworms, ants and crickets. You can also chew grass or make a tea from it, the juices of which contain many nutrients (although the grass itself is not digestible).

You can farm all sorts of seeds, although you must research seeds you may purchase. Many seeds are genetically modified, some only produce one harvest and the seeds of that harvest are sterile, meaning you are in serious trouble the following year. If you keep your seeds in the freezer until you actually need to leave, they will keep longer. For some crops like corn, you need to plant at least some of your seeds together for cross-pollination purposes.

In general I think it might be helpful to avoid lines of planting, as they are obvious evidence of human gardening. I would plant patches when possible. You may also want to take those patches and surround the area with thicket and growth to keep out larger animals. You may try urinating around the parameter, which may keep some animals away because of the humans scent, but I wouldn’t count on it. Obviously make sure you save plenty of seeds, and seeds you do not save for planting you can usually eat. You must rotate your crops so that you don’t rob all the nutrients out of the soil. If you can, collect Lady Bugs and praying mantis and place them in your gardening area, they really help keep down many garden pests.

Fruits and vegetables may be sliced thinly and dried in the sun for preservation. Meat can also be cut thinly and smoked while hanging. Take a needle and thread and place strips of meat on the line as if they were beads. These meats must be slow cooked for many hours to preserve them properly. Canning requires only a glass jar with an airtight seal. You can place the contents inside and boil each bottle for several minutes, which should kill the bacteria. Summer and Fall must be spent preparing for winter, don’t slack on this. You should plan on leaving your campsite as little as possible during this time. Prep your fire wood as well.

Hunting requites a lot of skill, observation and patience. The best way to learn is through practice. You can also set up several snares to catch small game and even fish. You can google these. You just need to be aware of leaving behind any human scent when you place them. You must also be sure to place them on side trails. Not the most used animal trails because animals will too easily recognize them as out of place. Gutting properly is key, you must make sure not to puncture organs. Don’t butcher in your campsite, it attracts pests and predators. The process is rather involved and I suggest you find a way to practice. Bones and Sinew are fantastic for tool making; you will need to research how. The brains of an animal can also be used to tan and preserve the hide. Consider weapons like bow and arrow over guns for the low profile factor.

Try to transplant certain wildlife into areas closer to you and in patches so that when you need these resources you don’t have to go quite as far. For instance, if you find fresh water clams you can place them in an area of a stream that is closer to you and let them breed there. If you can catch a catfish you can raise them in a barrel or a part of a stream that has a deep sport where the fish would be otherwise trapped. Just be aware of heavy rains, which would allow for escape food for a fish of this size will probably be slim naturally, but you can feed them all kinds of scraps. A common Native American philosophy was that you never eat everything from one spot; you leave ten to twenty percent so that it will replenish itself.

Re: I Do Not Consent
Medical

You may want to have a few medical supplies on hand for the short term until you can become a bit more situated. Aspirin, diarrhea medication and hydrogen peroxide would be a good start. Again these run out. Nature has many wonderful cures. Chewed oak leaves can relieve bug bites and a coating of mud on the skin can act as a repellant.
Unfortunately many seem to think they can just buy a book and use it to find cures. There are many poisonous plants often mistaken with medicinal plants. In fact even the part of the wrong part of an otherwise medicinal plant or how you prepare it may be the difference between healing and death. Instead of buying one of these books I strongly suggest you start with something simple. If you go to Barnes and Noble they usually have field brochures on various subjects.
One of them is on medicinal plants. It focuses on the more common and identifiable plants. Keeping healthy is a key part of keeping sickness away. As was mentioned before Pine needles are a great source of vitamin C. Drinking lots of water is very important. The Native Americans often used sweat lodges to sweat out fevers and cleansed with cold water afterwards. This strategy has work well for me. You also need to be aware of hypothermia, which is how many in the wilderness die because they are not careful. Keep warm and keep dry. Don’t let yourself get so warm you sweat. If that happens slow down immediately. A common mistake is to put too many clothes on in winter. Know your first aide!

Re: I Do Not Consent
Self sufficiency

If you expect to live long-term then you need to know primitive skills like making rope, tools and all sorts of other things. You don’t need to start from scratch, research local Native American Tribes. You need to be resourceful, creative and a scavenger. For instance, plastic trash bags could be used as liners in shelter to keep out rain. Discarded containers could be used for storage or canning.
Just be careful of the containers you use for food. Do not place food in any container previously containing chemicals as they often leech onto the container itself and re-leech into whatever is placed inside them. If you can’t fix something, it is probably not worth taking with you, unless you only need it for the short term. Don’t forget tradable items such as gold you may need in an emergency.

Re: I Do Not Consent
Keeping a low Profile

I suggest living a semi nomadic life style with several shelters and storage areas. In other words, don’t keep all your eggs in one basket, because if someone finds your stuff they know you are they are you probably need to get out of the area ASAP. Guns make a lot of noise and draw a lot of attention. I’m not saying don’t have one, but I wouldn’t consider using it as a primary hunting weapon. I would consider a long bow, and with that the knowledge of arrow making.

Other people draw attention, not to mention that the person/persons you might bring along are probably clueless when it comes to survival. They stick out like sore thumbs. I wouldn’t suggest being in a group of more than three people, five if you are all very skilled and in a very remote location. You may also want to create code words or a coded language for your group so that if you somehow find yourself among enemies you can still communicate.

Not only for moral reasons, but also for logical reasons I would avoid stealing food or resources from others or participating in any violent action. No need to create enemies, again it only makes people more aware you are there.

How to prep now
A ‘Bug out Bag’ is probably the most necessary piece of survival equipment you will have. It is basically the bear minimum you need to survive at any given time. I keep mine in my car so I have it with me 24/7. In it I have

small bible
2 survivalist books
Medical plants pamphlet (from Barnes and Noble)
Edible plants pamphlet (from Barnes and Noble)
Survival tabs (pills containing nutrients and calories, a super food concentrate)
Waterproof matches and dryer lint
2 lock knives
A sharpening stone
Razor blades
an emergency space blanket
Water purification tablets
Potassium Iodate Pills (anti-radiation, nuclear fallout)

In addition I also always carry a bottle of water with me.

Re: I Do Not Consent
On top of this I have a few months worth of food in storage including lots of water. I keep in a rotational setting. That is, I use it when the expiration gets near and I replace it with a new one. This just keeps me ahead with my groceries and it insures I am not wasting my money or my food. I have other bags prepared with additional supplies that I can take at my discretion depending on the circumstances of my flight. Some of these things include…

preferably low caliber gun like a .22 and ammo (optional)
Long bow and arrows
garden shovel
Hatchet
Can-opener
Additional knives and sharpening stones
Skillet and or pot
A few pieces of silverware
Rope
Blankets, preferably a thermal sleeping bag
A few sets of clothes all weather
Medical kit
Reference books
Empty bottles
Two-man tent and or tarp
Salt
Maps

You will probably not be able to take all of this with you when you go which is why you should always be pairing down to the minimum you can carry on your person. You may also unknowingly be preparing for a massive economic slowdown or emergency situation such as civil unrest which is also why would should have large food supplies.

The most important thing you can do to prepare is read as much survival information as you can, know it inside and out, practice it and get in shape. You may also want to find others you would consider fleeing with. While you should learn the basics of all areas of survival, you may want to designate people in your group as specialists in say hunting or medicinal matters in which you can train each other more thoroughly when time allows. Keep in mind however; they may not actually be able to flee with you no matter how much planning you do.

Figure out a plan of where you are going. Urban areas are risky, the most rural will be the most quiet, but they will also be shorter on resources. Keep in mind wildlife is more abundant around farms then in the complete wilderness. Don’t discuss your plan with anyone but your most trusted associates. Never speak of it or do research for it online, as it is far too traceable. If possible, obtain and create your own maps of these areas before hand and have several locations in mind.

Re: I Do Not Consent
Challenge specifically for Christians

Christian Brethren, what must I ask is your motive for survival through the coming end times?
Is your motive to protect yourself and your family only? What purpose is there in that? Do you wish to live through horrible wrath and plagues and delay your stay in heaven with our Lord? Our purpose on earth is to share the gospel and we must love and take care of others in order to show them the love of Christ in hopes they might come to know him. We are called to love and pray for our enemies, we must be defenders and preachers of the word, feeding and caring for those who starve physically and spiritually.

If you refuse to do this you are being both fearful and selfish, hiding your candle light under a bowl. The light within you is no good under a bowl, it serves no purpose and itself will eventually suffocate. You are like the wicked servant placing his treasure in the ground. You would be better off practicing your faith in the open sharing love and being led to the slaughter all the way proclaiming only love, the gospel and mercy.
Some are tempted to rise up with violence, but the scriptures warn us what is to happen. Some are so insistent that our nation is a 'Christian nation.' Need I remind you though that all nations will join hands in submit to a one world government and in fact, many in government are working to achieve this as we speak. We cannot stop this, for God himself allows it and told us it would happen. Zealots only gave good reason for the government to be wary and stricter with believers under suspicion they might be terrorists. Like it or not we are going to end up in the same boat sooner or later.

I understand you may be angry, but remember God says, Vengeance is mine, I will repay say the Lord. We are unrighteous, therefore, our vengeance is unrighteous. God will judge and show his wrath, but that is not ours to share in because we are unholy. Even the world sees that and because we are not worthy of delivering God's wrath, doing so only discredits our faith. That is why we were told to change the world with love, not hate.

My challenge to you is to learn survival, store up and protect others. Share your resources in love, but use your judgment to beware of wolves. Remember not all the lost are wolves; many are just lost, in need of you to communicate God's mercy and love.

Closing

I run a survivalist message board group of about 4000 on myspace. Considering the circumstances of what very well may happen concerning the verichip, even these survivalists may be in serious trouble. Of the 4000, I’d say there are about 30 that have an 85% or better of survival in the wilderness. There are about 150 that have a 50% chance of survival and there are about 300 to 500 that have a 30% chance of survival.
These are people that are aware of survivalism at least on some level. That is scary, but the numbers could be much better, survival takes a lot preparation. Slacking, especially in these circumstances, will carry serious consequence. My thoughts will be with all of you as those of us who resist a chip. We will no doubt be labeled as nuts outlaws, extremists and worse even though we do not plan on harming anyone or interfering with anything.

Re: I Do Not Consent
avian
Influenza viruses are categorized according to type. Type A can infect humans, birds, pigs, and other animals, but wild birds are its natural hosts (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2006). (The low-pathogenic influenza types B and C usually infect only humans and are not addressed in this bulletin.) Type A influenza viruses are further classified by hemagluttinin (H) and neuraminidase (N) proteins, of which there are many combinations. A few A subtypes commonly circulate among humans (e.g., H1N1, H1N2, and H3N2), but the subtypes prefaced by H5 and H7 are of greater concern because they infect both birds and people. Avian influenza viruses are further categorized by the ability to cause disease in birds: low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) or high-pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

The Asian strain H5N1 HPAI is of concern not only because it is highly lethal to birds, but because it has also infected humans, although not easily. Human infection has mainly occurred in Asian regions where people live in close proximity with poultry. The evidence suggests that only significant exposure to sick birds causes the disease in humans. A concern is that H5N1 HPAI will mutate and transmit more effectively from poultry to humans and even human-to-human. Mortality in humans with H5N1 influenza is about 50 percent. A human health pandemic occurs when a pathogen is highly infectious and people have little resistance.

The H5N1 HPAI has spread from Asia to Russia to Europe and to some African countries. See www.pandemicflu.gov for a map of its spread. At the time of this writing, Asian H5N1 HPAI has not been detected in North America.

[link to www.attra.org]

The U.S. has seen mild outbreaks of LPAI and even the more severe HPAI that causes high mortality in birds, but HPAI is rare. Only three known outbreaks have occurred in the U.S.: 1924, 1983, and 2004. No human illness was associated with these outbreaks. ( U.S. Department of Agriculture, 2006) Although LPAI causes little disease in poultry, it must be controlled, since it can mutate into a more highly pathogenic form.
Sources

The source of the AI virus raises questions. Is AI spread by wild birds or by human activity? Is it spread by small-scale production systems and live markets or is it due to large-scale poultry? The conventional school of thought holds that wild waterfowl brought HPAI to domestic poultry. An alternative school of thought is that large-scale domestic poultry is part of the problem and could be spreading the disease to wild birds.

Wild waterfowl can be asymptomatic carriers of low pathogenic avian influenza, and their long migrations can spread the disease. In some countries outdoor poultry are banned because of concerns that wild birds help spread the disease. In the U.S., the live poultry market is also considered a reservoir of LPAI (USDA, 2006). Fighting cocks are also a concern because infected birds may be smuggled into the country. Fighting cocks travel through human activity and the birds might spread the disease where they are gathered for fights.

'Man does not have the right to develop his own mind. This kind of liberal orientation has great appeal. We must electrically control the brain. Some day armies and generals will be controlled by electric stimulation of the brain.’
