The bottles are filled with water and placed inside of square boxes which are stacked around the classrooms. According to the school it seems to have reduced the radiation levels inside by one-third. Anonymous Coward User ID: 48719786 Sweden 11/04/2013 04:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | US: Japan should accept liability to receive international help at Fukushima Daiichi As reported last week, United States Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz requested that Japan join a treaty called the Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damages. This treaty collects funds from participating nations to assist with payments for damages resulting from nuclear disasters. What most mainstream media sources failed to relate, was that the treaty also assigns accident liability to the operators of the nuclear power plant, rather than the vendors which develop the technology or construct the equipment. To receive help, the United States essentially told Japan that they would have to incur the losses and sign a treaty which would prevent them from seeking compensation from contracted companies, like those which built and constructed the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, and instead must satisfy itself only with seeking repayment from the operator, Tokyo Electric – who is facing bankruptcy and relies largely upon the Japanese government for funds to prevent a financial meltdown. In the wording of the treaty, “the operator’s liability for nuclear damage shall be absolute”, and “the right to compensation for nuclear damage may be exercised only against the operator liable.” [link to enformable.com] . |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 48719786 Sweden 11/04/2013 04:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | NRC scrutinizes loss of cooling at Nine Mile Point nuclear reactor SCRIBA, N.Y. - For 31 minutes earlier this year, operators of the Nine Mile Point Unit 1 nuclear plant lost the ability to cool the water surrounding their reactor core. The event was resolved without consequences, but it sparked concern from nuclear regulators who may cite the nuclear plant for a violation of safety rules. Thanks to a series of mistakes that began with a contractor opening the wrong circuit breaker, the water temperature in the reactor rose from 118 degrees to 145 degrees before operators managed to restart the cooling system. The problem was fixed at least 80 minutes before water surrounding the fuel rods would have started to boil, and nine hours before a meltdown would have begun, according to an inspection report by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Nevertheless, the NRC said the episode revealed weaknesses in plant operation and has said it may cite the owner for violating safety regulations. [link to www.nucpros.com] . |

Many of the estimates out there are old initial estimates of the meltdown phase and do not include radiation releases over the years. In our effort to answer this question we found a wide variety of research and estimates. With time researchers were able to use other tools and testing to create a better idea about how much has been released. These estimate ranges are presented to give an idea of the broad range of official estimates and are not a specific scientific study. What these widely divergent estimates show is that there is a need for more honest and accurate study of this issue. Work to remove the units will begin this month. The upper part of the No.4 reactor building was badly damaged in March 2011 just after the massive earthquake. The pool on the upper floor of the building contains 1,533 units, the largest single set in a pool at the plant. The number includes 1,331 spent fuel units still emitting high radiation. The Tokyo Electric Power Company plans to move them all to a different location. [link to www3.nhk.or.jp] . |

The measures include plans to build an additional temporary office space to house 1,000 employees in June, as well as a facility near the plant to produce warm meals for workers by the end of March 2015. TEPCO will also take steps that could lead to increased wages for subcontract workers. At a press conference in Tokyo, TEPCO President Naomi Hirose also vowed to ensure the safety of the upcoming process to remove fuel from the spent fuel pool of the severely damaged No. 4 unit. The work is expected to start in mid-November. [link to english.kyodonews.jp] . |

The list does not include disabled plants, like Fort Calhoun in Nebraska, that are offline and may never reopen. And it does not include plants already scheduled for closure, like Exelon’s Oyster Creek plant in New Jersey. 1. Indian Point 2. Ginna Nuclear Generating Station 3. James A. Hazard pay for the thousands of workers on short-term contracts will be increased from 10,000 yen to 20,000 yen a day, Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) said in a statement on Friday. It will also tighten supervision of contractors and improve meals and other conditions at the site where three reactors melted down in March 2011 after an earthquake and tsunami. “It is extremely important to secure a workforce,” the president of the company, Naomi Hirose, told a news briefing. “Whether an increase from 10,000 yen to 20,000 yen is adequate is another matter.” [link to www.japantoday.com] . |

Do you know why Fukushima continues to melt down despite water tanks, containment walls, foreign help etc. Japan has not repented from the event yet. The Tsunamis was a work of God from the bible Book of John Chapt 21 vs 11. Jesus told Peter to cast the net for fish and exactly 153 fish were caught without the net bursting. The numbers of the tsunamis were 3 waves and 50 feet high and going 100 miles an hour . This adds up to 100 and 50 and 3. This number when written out in Hebrew translates into " I AM GOD " I hope that the Japanese would cry out for help and in fact Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called for international help to deal with 3 coriums that have burnt through the floor of Units 1,3 and 4 and now is in direct contact with groundwater that drains into the Pacific Ocean. The only solution is get on our knees and repent to obtain God favour and then God will stop this environmental catastrophy. Unlikely though because this is a failed world where man does not realize that his control over his destiny amounts to what an ant has crawling along the floor if God is not with him. Japan, God corrects those whom he loves so what you are going through shows that God cares for you. I ask you God to have mercy on Japan and forgive them when they Japan has forgiven your people for retaking the holy land. |
